Only complaint is that if you don’t watch carefully on the highest setting, you can over melt your wax so pay attention to that so you don’t ruin your candles and/or scents by pouring too hot

This is a great product if you are looking to get into candle making and have no idea what you are doing. Just be sure to look up the correct temperatures to add in fragrance and then to pour. I was nervous for my first one but they turned out really great.

Used this to test some wax I brought. Very easy to set up and everything came in the box and it was clean. Thermometer was accurate, the wax melted wonderfully and the stickers and wick holders are good quantity.Now my issues:1. The hot plate gets REALLY HOT. I cranked it to 5 (the max) and almost cooked my wax. I recommend not going above 3.2. The cooling mat is not heat resistant. It melted and the pouring pitcher adhered to it and I had to wipe off the melted wax. The mat isn't 100% necessary. You can use a coaster.3. This thing SMOKES. Idk if it's from the hot plate or if the hot plate is burning the pouring pitcher, but it smokes every time I try to melt wax. I recommend having a small fan to blow the smoke around. I am hoping this will stop with time.But I am over all impressed and happy with my purchase.

There is a scent that I just love but I can never find a candle with that scent. I'm now making my candles in my favorite scents. It's sooo easy and fun! This is a very nice set, good scents. Easy clean up. I just made 6 candles to give as gifts and they love them! I suggest this set.

The hot plate got too hot even on a low setting. For soy wax it needs to melt slowly for it to not have bubbles or set up correctly. So this did not work well and made the wax smelled burnt.

I got into candle making recently this is an inexpensive way to get into the hobby or business. It comes with everything you need including wicks, wick stickers, a thermometer, a mixing spoon, really good wick centering tools and 2lbs of wax. The only thing you need to buy is a digital scale to measure out the wax.The metal wick centering tools are probably the best budget tool (yes there are better, but I would use the ones in this kit even if I were to mass produce candles). The candle wicks are not the best quality, but they will work just fine for smaller 8oz, 6oz and 4oz candles. You will eventually want to get better gear if you are serious about candle making, but I still use this for single candles for testing purposes.
