If your outdoors and storing food you need to protect it from wild animals. The best way to do that is to get it off the ground and out of reach.
The pack rolls down and closes into position with a buckle to secure it. It also comes with two lightweight ropes, similar to tent guy lines. It also comes with a small pack you can put a rock, some dirt, or anything else heavy you can find into that you can use to throw the rope over a branch. These and the included clips are used to make a pulley to raise and lower your bag from a tree. By doing this you keep it out of reach of coyotes, raccoons, feral dogs, and of course bears. So long as you keep it up high enough, and far enough away from the trunk, even climbing animals can't reach it.

I couldn’t find my rok sock brand hanging system so I ordered this one because I wanted a bigger bear bag than the rok sack system came with. I do like this bag better. It is thicker and holds more food. However, I found my rok sock and used it with the new bear bag because the rock bag this one came with seemed too stiff and not aerodynamic like a ball you could easily hold in your hand and throw. If I were backpacking and weight was an issue, I’d go for the entire rok sock system, but since weight was not an issue I appreciated the bigger, more durable bear bag in this system. Also, the para cord that came with this system was thicker than the rok sock system. I chose to use the old para cord that came with my rok sock.

This bag was great until night #2 and then critters ripped into it. It was hanging from a tree and thankfully I had items on top of our main food or else we would have starved the rest of the trip.

Fantastic! Great quality and well made. Worked great on a multi day backpacking trip. I didn’t need the rope for this trip as there were already beer hangs, but the bag held everything I needed it to and was very sturdy.

The bag is good quality and large. I like the locking carabiner but the rope seems way heavier than 550 Paracord. I use the toggle method for hanging in with 10 foot hank of Paracord I always have in my bag.

I just took these camping with me this week in bear country. It Work great!! It works great and no Leaks. It comes with everything you need to seal in your items and to make it easy to ankor over a tree limb. It is WELL MADE AND GOOD QUALITY AT A GOOD PRICE. I also use it as my fishing catch bag. I am happy with these product

This product functioned well, kept everything dry. The cord for the pulley system is strong but quite thin and gets tangled in small branches easily and is difficult to pull out.But other than that for the price worked well

This is exactly what you want for putting food out of reach when camping or out and about. The main bag is light and not heavy duty but it will more than do the job of keeping food safe and dry. The lightness is also an advantage because you can easily just throw it into a backpack or an emergency bag and it takes up only a small amount of space and weight. It comes with two ropes and two carabiners to help tie it up securely but rope is always useful when camping so you will probably find other uses for one if you just secure it with the one rope. The carabiners are not climbing strength but that warning it clearly printed on them. There is also a throw bag, initially I thought that it was supposed to hold the weight of the food and then I realised that you simply tie the rope to it, toss it over a branch and you are ready to tie the rope. Nice of them to add in something so simple yet useful.It does exactly what I want and what it advertises itself as doing but it can be used for many other things as well so I have no complaints.

Designed for backpackers. Everything is durable, lightweight, and portable. The bag was more than big enough to hold my three days of food supplies and fastened easily at the top.The cordage seems to be good quality and plenty strong and the carabiners are surprisingly robust.Knots and rigging aren’t my strong points, so the included instructions on how to suspend the bag were very helpful.While the bag comes with a carrying strap, I fastened mine to my backpack. I wish this bag had some MOLLE strapping, but overall, the design works.For the quality of materials, this bear bag system is competitively priced and is probably one of the frontrunners compared to other thinner bags that are currently available.
