Bolted and connected up perfectly after removing and reusing the old internal ruber seal. Manually actuated the plunger to bleed the system to remove the air.

So far so good. No leaks or other failures to speak of. Some of these aftermarket slave cylinders seem to cause people issues. Particularly with the plastic push rod fatiguing and bending. Other aftermarket ones I've compared have a black plastic push rod under the dust boot. This one from Beck Arnley has a khaki colored one that looks just like the OE part. So perhaps the ones with the black push rod is an inferior type of plastic. Also, do your homework on the proper procedure to bleed this cylinder on a Mini Cooper. It requires that the cylinder be pressed in (using a clamping system of some sort) while bleeding the air out of the line. Basically it's backwards from a typical slave cylinder as it pertains to the bleed procedure.

Perfect fit for my 2004 R53. If you are having trouble getting the car into gear this might be your issue. If you locate the cylinder on your car and find that it is leaking that will most likely be your issue. The trick to bleeding this is to compress the clutch cylinder before installation to remove all the air from the cylinder. I used a piece of wood with a hole drilled in it and 2 long bolts that thread through the wood and to the cylinder.ModMINI has a great video to watch that will walk you through the process.Difficulty level: Beginner to IntermediateTools Required: 10mm socket or wrench to remove cylinder and an 11mm wrench for bleed screwSupplies Required: ATE 200 brake fluid (my choice for minis)I discovered that my car needed the cylinder replaced in the middle of rush hour on my way home, I couldn't get my car into gear. I would recommend inspecting yours every oil change to be sure it is not leaking. Also, be sure to regularly check your brake fluid level as that could be an early catch as well.

Tried 2 from the local Auto parts store, both started leaking immediately. This one worked like a charm and looked identical to the one I took out.

identical to OEM. too bad this mini Cooper BMW design is severely flawed and caused the throwout bearing to fail, and almost destroy the bell housing. i've re-designed mine and modified this slave cylinder so it will no longer damage the clutch or bell housing.if you're having issues with your clutch I would suggest replacing the throwout bearing rather than waiting for it to explode and take everything else with it.

This item is an ready install, make sure to compress fuel with a pony clamp prior to installing. Also don't tighten the bleeder valve to much while bleeding. If you're clutch doesn't Engauge after installation, leave clutch pedal fully compressed overnight with bleeder screw closed and resivour cap off. This will help trapped air to escape. Having a pressure bleeder makes this process quite easy.
