Switch was longer than the original, had to bend the terminals in order to install. Once I got it in the transmission it would activate the reverse lights, but I had to hold the shift lever to keep it in reverse if I didn't it would kick out of gear.

The switch (on the right) is longer than the original. This made it extremely difficult to install in a ‘71 Super Beetle. Once installed, the added length of the portion inside the transmission, kept the transmission from being shifted into reverse.
