I used a mole grip clamp, to crush the plastic covering over pipe, and you can see in pics , that it exposed the pipe, easy job , just use a pipe connector to attach the pipe from pump, it looks neater, with the feed under the body, I thoroughly recommend this product.

Well made and a good size. Hose attachment could do with being a bit longer to make it easier to attach hose. Once up and running good “spitter “.
