Have to slam it in the tub to get it to turn in. It does work great and is accurate, but the duck likes to drown itself under the spout all the time

Two defective units in a row that drain batteries in a week no matter what you do. Avoid this and buy the original.I use this once a week for my Sphinx, cat’s bath, and then I dry it, make sure it turns off, and I leave it for a week on its side. I’ve tried leaving it in the bathroom cabinet or in my bedroom but it doesn’t change anything. By the next time I want to use it, the battery is drained somehow, even though I’ll glance at it occasionally to make sure it’s not turning itself on.I really like the idea so I’ll try one of the original units that has thousands of good reviews instead of this “upgraded†model that currently has only 10.Maybe it’s just a bad batch but I can’t keep burning a battery a week for one use and it’s annoying to pop the battery cover to try to leave it empty.

The thermometer takes a little bit to give a mostly accurate temp. I’d say it’s still slightly inaccurate; there’s been times it’s said one temp but the water was too hot for my baby. Also, it takes more than a “tap†to turn it on. I normally have to slap it in my hand. For the price, it works.

This is supposed to turn on automatically when it hits the water but it’s really hit or miss. When it works, it’s really nice because it’s accurate and the red light comes on if the water is above 102. It’s pretty good quality, just wish it would work consistently! There’s no on/ off button.
