It works as advertised. I twist wire making fishing lures and it works great. The size is perfect and easy to use.

I’m sure there are better quality ones out there (or at least my husband says the ones at work are better) but these work great, especially considering the price. We built a chicken coop run and needed to attach two rows of hardware cloth together with safety wire all around it. My fingers and hand were so sore after the first day working on it and I hadn’t made much progress. Enter these babies and it’s so much faster and easier to do. I’m very glad I ordered these!

So, here's the deal: I bought these because the safety wire pliers I've had for 25 years are finally worn out. While shopping for a new tool I found that there are pliers available in the price range of about $20-$150......all well and good but the descriptions are all the same so there is nothing to help you pick one, or any reason to pick a more expensive plier over a less expnsive one. I decided to take a chance on these for $21, if they are crap oh well at least it wasn't a $100 plier. If they're good, I win having got one at the lower end of the price range. Now I'm not using these on a bike, I'm an aviation mechanic. I don't know if that matters to you the reader, but full disclosure to help you make a decision. 2 weeks, so far so good. I'm really happy with the size, they're small enough to get into tighter spaces. The lock and spring work well, and the joint is solid. I told a co-worker that they are "Snap-On Special Red Edition", he examined them and didn't question me a bit.I'll update if they don't hold up long term, until then; great product, great deal.

Because I very recently received BikeMaster Safety Wire Pliers I haven't been able to use them yet. I have looked them over closely and quality appears to be good. The tool also feels good/solid in my hand, not cheap and flimsy. These are the same pliers that are sold at most of the well known reputable motorcycle parts supply sites. Time and use will tell if they perform well and if they hold up to long term use.

Bought these for AMT school 2 years ago, and these are the same pair i use today. I thought I'd have to replace them after school, but they're still going strong. they may not be reversible but man do they work well. I know the red seems kind of tacky, but i bought them because they makes them easily visible, insuring i don't leave them behind on a job. They lock well and the safety wire doesn't slip. Even 2 years later, i can still cut safety wire with the pliers with ease. Pretty good value for the money.

The jaws are too sharp and left a mark on the wire. I filed off the sharp edge, but it seemed to file too easily for a hardened tool. The twist works very smoothly, but the spring is far too tight for my liking- I uncrimped the end, took out the spiral handle and cut off half the tension spring, and reassembled. I wish they sold a version without the twist spring. Works very well for a compact plier, and much better than HF version. The 777 & 787 are more crowded to work on than the 727 or DC-10 were, so the smaller size is handy for some jobs.

I previously purchased a slightly cheaper lock wire tool from Amazon and it was total junk. The locking mechanism did not work properly and I immediately returned it. I spent just a few more dollars on the Bikemaster lock wire tool and was extremely happy with how much better this tool works ! The locking mechanism is crisp, and it’s a world of difference over the cheaper junk I previously tried. I love this one by far !! Highly recommend for the DIY’er.
