This solves the galvanic corrosion that will occur if you have an aluminum intake, aluminum distributor body steel clamp and steel bolt. Different metals can weld themselves together chemically over time and hot/cold cycles. My situation is a 1989 Ford 460 in a motorhome and I play hell trying to break the distributor loose to adjust timing.

Works but could be better when the distributor is tight the end of the holder has not met the block.

It will work but it is very light and minimal. The tab where it is thick is not as thick as the base of an HEI distributor so it sits at an upward angle to the distributor. It will work fine for the street.
