This antenna is very nice on a small Gmrs radio. On a TD-H3 it can connect to the repeater 33 miles away. It wasnt as clear as the 771 on a TD-H8 so it is a compromise. I do think that this antenna is great for a small pocket radio to carry nearly anywhere. I have not tried any long range simplex so I can't comment on that at this time.It recieves well.I am very happy with this and like that I can keep it in my pocket without a whip whipping around. The compromise is well worth it to me.

These are great for short distances around the property or just down the road about a 1/2 mile.They are conveinent and don't get in the way or hung up on anything if you carry them on your belt.TX and RX is clear and strong. Will be great for trade show or other events where GMRS comms are needed.

I use this antenna on my handheld DMR radio to transmit into my Hotspot. The antenna does exactly what I want it to do, transmit a short distance and have a very low profile. No complaints, it just works. I have no idea about the range because I use it with the radio set to the lowest transmit power setting and my Hotspot is no more than two stories from where I transmit from inside my home.

I ended up putting my longer antenna back on because I didn't get much distance out of this one. For people communicating with direct view and short distances, I would imaging this works great. It was worth the try at the cheap cost.

This small antenna is the best one I have tested, so far.The antenna is firm and durable, made of plastic, and does not bend like some other antennas on the market, which in my experience, did not function very well, at all.I was looking for a smaller antenna to use versus the one that came from the factory, for short range communication (~1 mile or less) and this antenna is a good solution.I tested this antenna out to and past a one mile range and found voice communication to be cleat at one mile range and understandable out around two miles but no further, and not as clear as you will get with a longer antenna, around the two mile range.These short antennas are more compact and comfortable to use, for carrying the radio clipped on your belt, for example, as well as limiting incoming transmissions further away which can be undesirable in some applications, such as vehicle-to-vehicle communication, in close proximity.I typically run a short antenna and switch to a longer antenna, as needed.Highly recommend this brand antenna to anyone for most Baofeng or similar radios.Testing was performed on the following Baofeng models: UV-5R (~5 Watts), UV-5R5, UV-82HP (~8 Watts).

I wear my radio on my chest and the antenna kept poking me in the face. This little antenna resolved that issue and I have seen no performance loss in my application.

I use these on 2 watt GMRS Baofeng MP31 radios. They have basic range and can connect to repeater near by clearly with no problem. The range in this configuration is less than half a mile in simplex mode. The repeater is less than 5 miles from me. I also tried these on my TD-H3 which is a 5 watt radio and it heated up more than I would like in high power mode.

Bought a pair of these to affix to a couple of Baofeng MP31 GMRS radios that my son (6) and I use on our woods patrols and as secret agents.Range with this little stubby antenna is roughly a half mile to 3/4 mile in open terrain. Perfect for keeping our transmissions out of prying ears.Would work nice on a higher power UV5R (4ish watts or so) for using with a team or mutual assistance group doing 'training' tasks. In Minecraft, of course.

Work great for UHF. Good when low profile use is required, and not too far. Very convenient

I was surprised that I could talk as far as i could . Even talking to my friend about 1.5 miles through treeswe could still hear each other .using same antennas. I never thought that UHF would do that good. I am used to to using VHF most of the time.
