To my surprise, works better than the taller factory antenna.

I purchased this as a replacement for the original Motorola antenna that was way too long to wear on a plate carrier. At first I had concerns about it working property and effecting the range, reception, or signal strength, but after four months of using it I have had no issues with it and even shared it with coworkers so they will get one. It is good quality and fit the radios they said it would.

I use this antenna as part of an SDR setup for monitoring my local county 850 MHz trunked radio system and it by far outperforms any other antenna I have tried in terms of reception and signal quality. I like them so much that I now own three of these antennas!

Works just as good as the ridiculously long one that comes with the radio. I find no difference in reception, of signal or clarity of voice with this stubby antenna. And best part is when the radio is on my side I am not being poked in the armpit by the long antenna.

So it said motorola on the antenna, but not what I received.. still works as it should so I won't complain to much.

Haven’t had any issues with losing signal in buildings. Small but mighty.

Using this on a brand new APX 8000 and I notice little to no difference in signal strength. I wear a load bearing very with my radio at my 10 o clock, so the huge antenna that comes with the radio got in my way. This one allows almost the same signal strength with it being completely out of the way. I work in a 7 square mile town with the radio tower in the center, within 3 or 4 miles of my radio. Areas of poor signal quality I had poor signal strength with the factory antenna as well.

Seems to work as well as the longer original antenna on a Motorola APX 7000.
