Excellent quality spinner knob is solid and spins freely and easily. The quality is much better than those I saw in several different auto parts stores I visited looking for one. It can slip a little but stays in place about as well as can be expected. Here are some tips from my experience. Mine is installed on a Mazda CX-5 Touring w/Tech option so it is a leather wrapped steering wheel. It is better if the steering wheel is a little soft so the spinner can grip it better. If you have a hard steering wheel then using one of the spacers will be necessary because they are pliable themselves and will be able to grip the wheel some. There are two different thicknesses with the spacers which you can use either one, both or none. There are two pieces to the metal part that hinge together around the steering wheel. When using the spacers that go between the metal part and the steering wheel, you have to be careful to align them so the small "spikes", for lack of a better word, that are on the underside of the metal parts are exposed and not covered up by the spacers so they can grip the steering wheel and keep it from slipping anymore than it has to. The spikes are dull and will not poke holes on your wheel though they might leave indentations temporarily. That will also be on the back side of the wheel where they will not be seen easily anyway. You also have to tighten down the screw quite tightly so the spinner knob will stay firmly in place.Keep in mind if you straighten your arm out suddenly as a reaction to something or were to hit it thrown forward in a collision, it *will* move (collapse forward) which is a good thing when it comes to not poking holes in yourself but a bad thing if you think you will keep control of the vehicle with one hand on the spinner knob after it moves significantly forward. I highly recommend installing the spinner knob on the inside of the steering wheel, not the outside. Install at about the 8 o'clock position if left handed, 4 o'clock position if right handed because most of the time you will want to rest your arm on your leg or the arm rest while driving.I am very fortunate that my condition is temporary for before and after a surgery when I will be left handed for a period of time. I have a doctor's Rx for the device which I keep in the car and is required by my state to have a spinner knob on your steering wheel. Check with your State Patrol office to see what their requirements are. If you go to another state, my understanding is that they will honor whatever your state does that is on your license plates/driver's license.I love the thing. It operates very smoothly and for the most part, stays firmly in place. If it moves a little I just tighten it up again with a Phillips head screwdriver I keep in the glove box. Even when it slips, it is only a little bit. It never comes completely loose, it just moves a bit back and forth. I wonder if I will be able to give it up when my arm heals?! Maybe I will wait until I at least get a warning ticket. ;-)

In the 'old days' almost every farm truck and many cars had a Steering Knob - long before we had power steering. Even with modern power steering my arthritis makes it a challenge at times to turn my Suburban into tight parking areas. This knob is great. It is sleek in style, conforms to any interior decor and never gives that obtrusive 'add-on' look. The padding strips that are included make sure the knob provides a great secure fit and does not mare your leather steering wheel. I loved mine from day 1. Then my wife took my Suburban while I had her Tahoe serviced. That night I was informed that she needed one on her Tahoe. I was floored. She never liked taking my truck because of the extra length - but now; no problem because she can maneuver it so easy. SO - I bought one for her Tahoe and now I can go from truck to truck and they are identical (knob and steering wise). %-star rating all around; looks, operations and craftmanship.

An update, 10-06-2014: After having this gizmo in service for many months, I'll gladly upgrade it to Four Stars. It works and yes, I use it. The install and adjustment, including the soft spacers remain difficult, but if it gets tightened up every quarter, it should work just fine. Would I buy it again? Yes!-updated 10-06-2014-----This is a fully worthy spinner. I think it is built for ancient steering wheels, but then so is the concept of using a spinner! While it CAN be made to fit and in just exactly the right place, the process is not easy. Take your time, experiment and move it around. Once in place, it seems to be a good helper and often convenient to use.TIP: Find a mounting spot such that the KNOB itself is inside the original steering wheel. If outside, you will eventually regret it.At the end of the day, spinners are a horrible idea for daily, in-town traffic. In rural roads and Interstates, they have potential, but always have both hands ready. I'm not going to return the spinner, but I have mixed feelings.I shopped with care and could not fins anything any better. If you have found a better one, I'd like to know. This may be one of the best, but it is just not good enough.

I have Severe Rheumatoid Arthritis (as well as other crippling Arthritis) , while I do have power steering in my K-2500, w/4 X 4, combined w/ a 5 speed manual transmission , it's way to hard on my crippled hands to try to shift while turning my large truck- I tried a cheaper "suicide steering knob", but the thing had so much slack and play (not to say the unit was thin plastic) After looking at the MANY different types, brands and materials used in the production , I found 3 I liked the reviews (Thanks VERY MUCH to all who take the time to write these reviews- I go by them most, for decisions) the one I liked the best was $100.00+ and made from Stainless, being disabled, my disability check wouldn't allow such a cost, this one from "Fouring BL Platinum Power Handle Car or Boat- Pick-ups Too" seemed that it was built very good, I was correct in my assumption- it's TOP NOTCH, with-out a doubt, if you need or want a very good (high grade materials and craftsmanship) it is very close tolerance in the assembly, looks good as well- easy to install, the old one, will be rebuilt with some good hard Maple and a tight spring- Thanks Amazon for a Quality made part that helps us who struggle with disabilities, and selling it at a good cost - I do recommend this (along with the "Hurst" "T" shift handle)

Solide, bonne sensation dans la main, rigidité, bonne fixation, bonne rotation bien libre : tondre la pelouse est devenu une rigolade jouée à une main contrairement à sans!

This is the third steering knob I have purchased and by far the best.It fits the palm and doesnt rotate around the steering wheel. Its robust and looks classy.

Cette "boule" de volant est de bonne qualité, agréable à manipuler.Bien que 2 fois plus cher que celle que je possédai avant, elle ne fait pas de bruit en tournant (usure)Très bel aspect sur le volant, elle ne fait pas gadget.
