These are the thin type. Ski helmet fits well. Adds a little warmth. Great wind breaker. Doesn't fog up googles. Easy to pull on and off front face piece to talk or have a drink. Comfortable. I tried a lot of gaiters and face covers before getting these. None worked. My search is over.

EDIT: Year two of using these and I’m still in love with them. I have 3 different ones now. They’ve held up so well to many ski trips and they keep my sensitive ears warm and protected. I just wash them on cold and hang dry them to ensure they stay in good shape.First time using a blackstrap balaclava and I absolutely love it. The material feels so high quality and nice. It fits really nicely on my head (I wear a size large ski helmet.) I love how easily you can pull the mouth piece up and down, it’s great for Covid too as the mouth part has a double layer. The mouth part has a meshy type layer on the inside which really helps keep it from sticking to your face when it gets all moist from your breath. It kept the cold wind off my face really nicely. Great for day and evening skiing. If I was gonna go night skiing on a really cold night I might get the thicker version of this for extra warmth. This regular thickness one still kept me warm too tho. I’m definitely going to eventually buy a couple of these in different colors. Really worth the price and I love all the awesome colors and patterns.

Fit my large head great! Kept me warm. I liked how long it is to go around the collar of my ski top and keep out the wind. I also liked the movable face piece, easy to move up and down with my ski gloves.

I bought this for skiing and it did not disappoint. As any face masks, by the end of the day it is moist but it works great, it’s light weight yet very warm and keeps wind burn away. I love the fact that you can pull it down below your nose and put it back up without having to adjust your helmet. Maybe a little pricey compared to other masks on the market, but it is definitely a great mask!

The Blackstraap Balaclava fits well. I wear an XL size hat and I had no issues pulling this item on my head. I tested it on a day when it was in the 20s while taking my morning walk. My head stayed warm but not hot. The only issues I had were 1) When pulled over the nose the fit is not tight or contoured enough for a good seal resulting in my sunglasses fogging up continuously. 2) The outer side of the fabric is too slick to allow a wool watch cap/toboggan to stay in place. I t kept riding up. Overall this is a good product with the two exceptions.

Wanted a thin, light, smooth layer under my snow sports helmet to add a bit more warmth on very cold days. Does not put pressure on my ears. It even makes my helmet more comfortable where it covers my ears. Thin enough to not impede hearing. The seams on front sides that connect the face part to head part do not irritate. It washes nicely and dries fast, and seems like it will hold up for many years. I liked that this came in many patterns so I could have lots of choices.

Since I'm spending much more time outdoors, it was really necessary to get a balaclava. My biggest problem was that all the balaclavas that had mouth and nose coverings (where I get cold primarily) were really ugly.It goes without saying that this Blackstrap Balaclava has a bold and beautiful print with my favourite colour, blue!I was a little worried that this would be too thin, but the material is fantastic at keeping you warm. It’s super comfortable and not too tight or thick, but still keeps the cold out. As a glasses wearer the only issue is glasses fog, but that’s not really the balaclava’s fault. I was glad I spent the extra money for a reputable brand and good looking design!

My head circumference is 20.5 inches, wirhin the stated guidelines, and it is too big. I should have ordered a youth size. I did wear it once at 5 C and it was plenty warm enough. And I wore it another time at 2C, over another similar type of one so that it would fit better, and it was fine. And I like the colour which is as advertised.
