I got to use one at a recent quilting class. I order mine the next day. I don't know why I waited so long to get one. Handiest tool I've bought in a long time.

This is a great quality item which allows me to cut chain sewed pieces much faster. To so easy to keep beside the machine. The size is perfect for being able to use old rotary blades.

Use it every day, so very handy timesaver with my quilting. Uses my no longer useful rotary blades.

This pink Blade Saver thread cutter made by Purple Hobbies is so handy to have. It uses your 45mm rotary blades that are too dull to use in your rotary cutter for fabric. It also comes with a tiny phillips screwdriver to use on the center screw of the cutter to tighten it all together. The bottom part can be used for storage of the tiny screwdriver as well. Just the thing when wanting to cut apart quilt blocks when you are chain piecing, as it definitely speeds up the process.

The time I save with having this is great. The quality is great and I think this will last for a long time. It's easy to use and a great value for the price.

Makes short work of separating my chain stitched quilt pieces. And the top with the blade nests inside the base, making it safe to transport.

Likes: use for old rotary blades, cuts threads rather easily off, and right size to fit in hand.Dislikes: when the blade is inserted the two outer sides do not fit together tightly, which makes it sketchy feeling to use - enough so that I actually consider sending it back, but I’m going to try to add a washer or something similar to help tighten it together.

Saw this on a Fabricpatch.net tutorial and chat and thought it was a great way to cut apart chain pieced quilt pieces plus use up the older used rotary blades. It is wonderful. Stores flat so you can put in your sewing box easily. Petals close enough that you should not easily be able to cut fingers, even little helpers fingers. Heavy enough that it does not tip over. Not a cheap plastic either, nice and sturdy.50 years of quilting and first time my arthritic hands do not have to use scissors or clips to cut apart those chains. I love it.

This is a wonderful gadget for a quilter. If you are chain sewing, it’s great for quickly cutting the thread between the pieces. My only complaint is the price. It has a fairly high price to pay for a plastic item, but I am glad I purchased it.
