These rods are very easy to use. They lay down a large smooth bead. They strike easy and lay down a lot of bead quickly. The drawback is that they only work flat or horizontal. Vertical and overhead are a no go with these. The flux is thicker than other rods because it has lot of powdered iron in it so, you get less rods per pound.

Seem to burn fairly similar to other brands that I have used. I think that they do not put fill material down as smooth as some others. Work okay.

I have been welding for over 20yrs. I run a root 6010, hot pass 7018, For my cap I will turn my 1/8" 7024-1 at 140amps and angle your rod lets say 80 to 85 degrees. pay close attention to your arc length, keep close but not to close, keep up feed rate the same what the top of the weld, the middle, and the bottom and listen very very closely you run this run enough you will be able to use you hearing and eyes. if you practice enough with this rod, you become very good with it. If your right handed, practice with your left hand, if your left handed practice with your right hand, you will need this practice for out of position welding. All and all this rod is by far well worth the money you pay. Yes if you run right the flux will peel right up for you. Check this rods PDF out, if you know your periodic table good if not learn it.

My machine won’t run this large of an electrodes. I bought a very cheap Tooliom from Amazon and it barely works.
