I saw this product in an unrelated YT video and decided to try it. I was very happy with the results of welding cast iron/steel with it and will order as needed.

Used these rods for decorative iron here in the south east. Very strong weld when finished. Preheated to 300+ and wrapped with some leather while it cools. While welding, get the piece cherry red by washing back over your weld. Peen before wrapping. A+ repair.

I was able to repair a motor end-plate that I don't think I could buy with two fistfuls of cash. I did preheat with a propane torch until I lost patience and went at it. My welds are uggo(not just here, but always), but this stuff wetted in well and bam, it's fixed.

According to the chart, there should be approximately 13 pieces for 1lb. Of 3/32†rod. I weighed my 12 pieces and it weighs 15 ozs. This rod is expensive as it is. 16 ozs cost me $59.16 which equates to $3.70 per ounce. So after selling at least 15 packages they actually made $59.16 by not having a full 16 oz. So do the math and decide if the price is competitive.

Very controllable. I use it for recreating cooling fins on cast iron vintage motorcycle heads
