I am new to welding but not at all new to metal. This is some hard stuff. It takes 20 to 30 times more grinding time to remove the same amount of material vs HRO mild steel (at least). Starts and holds an arc very easily and deposits fairly quickly for this type of rod. Good stuff. Will certainly be buying this again.

I wore out one of the *FEET* on my Snow-Plow, so, needed to rebuild it. I then added this HARD SURFACE to the bottom on it, and the other one, that was about to wear thru, which, I built up first with the mig. Then added a couple layers of the hard surface rod, on both.. I did however notice, that is would -CRACK- as it cooled, I think that was mostly on the 2nd and 3rd layers that I did. Didnt hurt anything. Maybe, am not suppose to do more then 1 layer. Or not let it (air) cool so fast? But, I am happy with the results. Product overall seems to di what is it supposed to do..

170 amps DCEP with a little preheat on the part. Ran a little longer than normal arc to get the thick metallic flux to burn and the puddle to flow. Cheaper alternative to stoody 35 rod. Hand file won't touch it.

we build up buckets , teeth and the wear is phenomenal.. here its January and since june of last year ive seen very little wear on cutting edge of bucket.. now the teeth are a different story as they take the brunt of all abuse, seeing anoth 5 mo of usage off teeth that range in price of 2k its a great rod to use and easily used.. lift off puddle just a hair and begin the build up.. i lace dozer blades as well, put sticks of t-1 stick it with 9018 then hard face around

ran well for me in dc. easy arc starting and restarting and i thought the build up was decent as long as i was welding in a flat position. it is too early to tell how well it wears.

This is by far the hardest rod I've used. I bought this rod to repair an anvil for my dads buddy. After facing the top on a mill, it had a nice 90° edge. So to test it I tapped the edge with a pry bar, the welding rod was so hard it cut into the pry bar and I couldn't even tell where I hit the anvil.

It was slow getting here but it is even better than expected. Easy to control the puddle.

Rod welds fairly good. Does not like rust at all. Must be good steel. Otherwise lays a very nice bead
