I bought this sway bar to use with my 24ft. car hauler trailer to be pulled with my 2017 F150 Ford 4x4 pickup. The trailer is relatively light being all aluminum with an empty tongue weight of about 500 lbs. I purchased the 'up to 1000 lbs" Blue Ox and never had a bit of pulling the trailer loaded with my car from Dallas to Toronto. You could feel the pressure when an 18 wheeler went by which is never comfortable, but the trailer never swayed. There is A LOT of pressure required to engage and lock in the sway bars, but over all the installation was straight forward and about what you would expect. Instructions were clear and specific. I have never used sway bars to pull trailers before so I can not compare to other brands, but if you want to be confident that you have what you need, this is the one. A bit pricey, but worth it.

Purchased to connect our new 2016 Keystone Bullet 269RLS travel trailer to our Ford F150 Platinum Screw 4x4 with 3.5L Ecoboost, Max towing and 3.73 rear end. I installed it myself, following Blue Ox's instructions and after watching several Youtube videos. I also had to purchase a 3/4" drive breaker bar, as well as a couple of 3/4" sockets to tighten the ball and hitch bolts and I still need to find a place to get these torqued to the official specs, but they are really tight now, for sure. I took all the measurements, including the truck heights before and after and I believe I have it installed perfectly. Now the real test is how the towing experience is with it--my wife and I just towed our Bullet over 600 miles, some of which was on twisty, hilly two-lane roads and most of it on I-10 and I-95 with lots of semis blowing by and we encountered some pretty windy conditions and a thunderstorm. The hitch worked perfectly through all this--no sway and no noise. Backing up with it connected is also a breeze. I am now very confident pulling our trailer with this hitch. Oh, yes, I also had a camper right next to us that was using the Swaypro and asked him how he liked it--he said it works great, too. I definitely recommend the Blue Ox Swayer hitch!

I use the blue ox bw1000 when pulling my 16x6 interstate cargo trailer daily for work. This is my first blue ox load assist. I highly recommend the blue ox over anyone else's. There is room for improvement on this hitch but nun the less this is a superior hitch.Pro'sEasy installEasy hook up and disconnect from trailerGreat sway controlGround clearanceNo head adj.Works with tongue boxesConsHeavy

Great product highly recommend it for people who pull trailers a lot. There's other products that work fairly well and cheaper but this one is worth the investment. I love this one because of some design features. It's built in sway control makes the other products obsolete, it's quiet, easy to install and transfer from one trailer to another. Have found nothing undesirable about it! make sure you order the one with the correct weight rating for your application.

I think the blue ox system itself is pretty well made. One mistake I made was guessing to little tongue weight so I had to buy heavier 1500lb bars at a later time. I've always in the past when using weight distribution put my chains on top of the bars so when I make sharp turns they aren't catching/dragging. With the new design of the head the small pins that you pull to release the bars caught onto the chain ripping the pin off. Customer service replaced them with no problem, even next day air when requested since I was going out of that town the following day. As far as trailer sway, I haven't pulled my trailer without this for comparison, however my tongue is 1250-1300 lbs and the weight distribution works excellent. This system is also a bit easier to hookup than the reese style I used to have. As long as you connect the ball to your hitch and jack your tongue way up, the bars will lock into place a lot easier than trying to muscle it down. I do wish it came with a handle that was a little lengthier to make hooking up the bars/weight distribution easier. Overall for the price and functionality, I would recommend and buy again for my next trailer. FYI - my truck is a 2004 cummins 2500 long bed quad cab and my trailer is a 2016 keystone passport 3290bh 37' overall and 6440 on the scales when hooked to the WD.

Loved the fact that the hitch came preassembled with the ball. Just insert the weight bars and add the saddles and it’s good to go. Great sway control, easy to fine tune to the truck/trailer combo.

My tow vehicle is a 2018 Ford Expedition. I tow a travel trailer which weighs 6000 lb fully loaded. The sway control and weight distribution worked well for 18 months. Yesterday, the bolt that the rotating latch/Clamp On Lift Brackets rotates around sheered and broke. Hence the star rating.

16 F150 Platinum Crew Cab Towing 33' Coleman 295QBSI bought this WDH because my previous beach trip (400 miles round trip) with my round bar WDH had me with double white knuckles while driving in 15-20mph winds on the way back home. I couldn't drive over 50mph in that wind without scary sway. Plus only 60 max without winds & it would sway once trucks came by. My 200 mile trip to the beach was a complete breeze(no winds). I pushed it up to 70 mph just to try it out(65mph for most of ride) & there was no sway, even with tucks going by. My trip back home I had (15-20mph) morning winds to deal with again. There was some slight sway at the 60mph mark with winds but the system auto corrected the slight sway by itself. I was able to drive the whole way back with one hand on wheel & no white knuckles. This WDH is very quick to hitch & unhitch. I will recommend the Blue Ox SwayPro to anyone in need of a WDH. I'm glad I did my research this time around. The price is cheap for the job that it does

I can't even imagine what it used to be like towing my trailer before I bought the Blue Ox Sway PRO. By far the best hitch available.

This "anti-sway" hitch does nothing to prevent sway. Trailer swayed from the day I bought it until finally a gust of wind set us into a violent sway across 3 lanes of the I-80 and eventually forced us off the highway and down a 12' ditch at 60 mph. The trailer rolled. Totalled my truck and my trailer. We were very lucky we weren't killed, or we didn't kill someone else. I would give it 0 stars but the system doesn't seem to allow it.
