Replaces equalizer drop bar that was way to long, this will not hang so low and drag, longer than old one which will help in tight turns while backing trailer in tight spots.

I can now tow my trailer level. It would have been nice to get this with the hitch instead of having to spend more $$.

My trailer tongue jack was too close to open the truck tailgate with the existing hitch. This moved the ball back 5-6” and tailgate opens now.

I purchased this product after I confirmed the hole spacings with the manufacturer. The length was stated as 12" between hole centers, which was correct on the product. The drop was stated as 7-1/2" from the top of the shank to the center of the lowest hole. On the unit that I received this measured 6-3/4" which would not work in my application. This part is made in China but is supposed to be checked by the vendor for meeting their specifications. This one did not. They have another product (Curt 17122) that would work in my application but that product has a welded brace between the vertical and horizontal shanks that looks too wimpy to me. If it had a triangle shaped brace fully welded I would try it, but not the way that part is fabricated. Pretty scary to trust your RV to such a part. Go to the Curt web site for their drawings with dimensions, otherwise the dimensions given on Amazon are for the overall part length, not the spacing between the holes. Reese uses a different method of measurement. Beware.

The product is of high quality, however, Curt Manufacturing needs to provide a diagram or some other display to identify how the item is measured. I had to return 2 due to the wrong size. This is not the fault of the vendor as they were VERY accommodating and helpful.
