We have gotten a number of these Blueberry Martingale personalized collars over the years for several of our Westies. Our dogs are chipped, but the comfort of having their names & our phone number easy to read right at hand should one somehow go missing because someone accidentally left a gate unhooked or a door blew open is huge comfort. We get red with black lettering time after time. They're perfect & we like supporting this business who makes such quality products.

This martingale collar is amazing. I enthusiastically recommend this for a dog owner who understands what a martingale collar is and how to use it. I read some reviews of people who are surprised that there is no buckle closure on it or that their dogs got scared when the collar tightened on them too tight and the owner could not get the collar off the panicked dog so they had to cut it off. All of this is because of misuse and misunderstanding of how this collar works. I have found that the Blueberry martingale collars are very adjustable. I got the small for my 9 week old standard poodle puppy and we use it every day for leash walks, and now that she's 14 weeks old it is still in perfect condition and has survived rain, snow, and washings. The proper fit for a martingale is one that you can loosen up to easily slide over your dog's head. When you adjust the collar once on your dog, it should fit so that when tightened (pulling on the D-ring loop) the two adjoining D-rings should close together and *almost* touch. The pros of using this over a traditional buckle collar are that are when the dog pulls, the pressure is not put on their trachea (throat) which can cause injury to your dog. Rather, the martingale distributes the pressure caused by the dog pulling and relieves it from the front of the dog's throat to the back of their neck. So, when used CORRECTLY, this collar is arguably safer for training dogs to walk on a leash. Just don't put any ID tags on it - it's for leash walking only.If you know that your dog doesn't like when you put on a collar or are unsure if you will be able to have him/her patiently wait for you to adjust the collar, then you can get into a dangerous situation. Please look up pictures or videos of how to properly use these collars so you don't end up hurting your dog, because these collars should never do so. Just make sure you have one with plenty of room to adjust, and Blueberry collars are really adjustable. The quality is incredible, it's relatively inexpensive, and the lavender color I got looks so nice on my poodle pup! Lightweight, durable, easy to clean, comfortable for my pup.

These martingale collars are not choke collars and a properly fitted one will NEVER choke or hurt the dog. This collar does not have a buckle so it simply slides over the head and is adjusted so that you can still fit a couple of fingers underneath it. You don't want it too tight. Attach the leash to the leash ring and pull upwards and the collar will tighten enough so that the dog can not back out of it. The two rings should still remain at least 1 inch apart when pulling as the intent is to prevent their ability to slip out of the collar and it also provides a non-painful physical cue/reminder for the dog which helps when training them not to pull on a leash. This collar should not be left on the dog unattended as they can accidentally strangle or injure themselves.Overall it is a great, affordable, and attractive collar. The logo is on the inside so it is not visible while the dog is wearing it. The materials are good quality and should last a long time even with heavy outdoor use. The colors are bright and do not bleed onto the dog's fur or fade after washing. If you find this review informative and helpful please click on the "helpful" button below. Thank you.

Love the color choices and that the name and phone number is embroidered in. My dog itches a lot and keeps the embroidery keeps the noise down. The size adjustment hardware makes some print obscured.I do appreciate the martingale feature to help continue to deter pulling on walks.

This is certainly not going to be a collar that will last long for my boy. He's going to be around 90 pounds, but it works great for the moment and through the puppy phase. I love the martingales, and will likely buy another one for him as he grows. It works well just have to keep checking the size, puppies grow so fast.

The collars are perfect for prior puppy mill dogs. It keeps them safe when they go to bolt. Any other collar would’ve snapped/they would’ve gotten loose. Would 100% recommend for prior mill dogs.

We ordered two of these when the dogs were puppies, and two more as they grew. Excellent quality, and I appreciate the solid construction. (Quick release was not an option with the bigger dog.) Canvas color is bright and embroidery is clear and easy to read, even at a distance. There is a lot of room for adjustment. My only complaint is that the first letter of my dog's name is now under the buckle. Phone number is visible, so I guess that's really all that matters. I'm quite pleased with the quality and value.

Great collars and not just for training. My Corgis can slip out of flat collars easily, putting them at risk of getting lost or injured. Martingales work like a regular collar when walking, but tighten when pulled, so they cant slip out, and are easier than slip leads. I highly recommend them for Corgis and any other escape artist.(Side note: never leave this or any other collar on a dog when not being supervised)

Martingale X large is definitely big enough for a very large dog. The problem is if the dog has a big head and small neck. Unfortunately, I did not pay attention to the description. This collar does not have a buckle to unclasp. Instead it has to go over the dogs head. Martindale collars are supposed to fit the neck properly so if you are getting an X large because your dog has a big head and not so large of a neck, you will run into issues. Other than that, it's very obvious the collar is great quality, strength and extra wide in the X large size. It's a slip on collar. No Buckle to unclasp. The Large is regular width, same quality and also doesn't have a buckle to unclasp.

The nylon is of good quality and it’s not smooth but rather it has those ridges which keeps the width around secure. No slipping and loosening, which was the main thing we were concerned about. Great for training too

My St Bernard is staying PUT thanks to this collar. So much better than a regular collar as it’s escape-proof!
