Went from incandescent to LED no problem. Just be sure that the hot wire goes to the hot side of the LED. So if you plug it in and it don't light up flip it 180 degrees.

When installed, this bulb illuminated great and I was very happy. This was for Nav lights on our boat which almost never get used. Went to turn them on tonight and they didn't light up. When I opened the housing the bulb had completely fallen apart. I'm guessing the bulb was glued together and the glue failed in the heat? Either way, I am throwing the spares away when we get home and buying a good ol' tungsten bulb.

The terminal both positive and negative are very oxidized we're covered in a white Truckee substance similar to what comes out of old batteries and the black base is cracked in multiple places like it was dropped hard mutable times if i hadn't checked and just installed it would have been dangerous

When replacing an old dome light, they provide more light, with less strain on the battery.Polarity is important. You may have to turn it around 180 degrees to make it work.
