If you’re going to grow plants from seed in starting trays a heat source like this is essential. Works well and doesn’t cost a lot. Doesn’t have a controller for temperature but does seem to help boost the germination rate so it must not be too hot.

I use these for starting seeds, keeping plants warm, keeping animals warm, keeping animal water from freezing, and on the rare occasion, as a foot warmer. They work very well and I haven’t had any issue yet. They hold up to some minor abuse from chickens and rabbits just fine. I have noticed the heavier the pressure on one spot, the hotter that spot gets. I wouldn’t recommend putting something too heavy on the matt that may cause a problem. Otherwise, these things have been literal life savers.

I only had a couple of mini seed trays with domes and this mat was the perfect size. Almost all my seeds germinated. This comes in handy during the winter to get a jump start on your spring planting.

This mat is decent for what I needed. I would like better if the temperature was adjustable. But other than that, it arrived quickly and seems to be of good quality and size.

Have been using these for a couple of months now. There is no heat control, so when the sun is out and the house is warmer, I sometimes unplug the mat. For the cold nights here in the northeast winter, I plug the mat in again and the plantlets get some heat. They seem to be working well and are giving gentle heat. The only drawback is that there is no temperature control, but that is why the price is so low. The literature included in the package says that they are regulated to be at the perfect temperature for germinating, so I am going with it.

Because I keep my interior house temperature on the cool side, I use this seed warming mat to help raw dough rise in bread making. Despite it's inexpensive cost and the fact that there's no temperature control, it works perfectly. I plug it in to let it warm up while I mix up the ingredients. Then when the dough is ready for proofing (i.e., left to rest and increase in size), I cover the bowl with plastic wrap, sit the bowl on the waring mat, and then drape a dish towel over the entire bowl to make a tent to entrap the heat. The mat appears to hold the temperature inside the tented bowl to between 70=80 degrees. This results in a perfect rise, usually in the time prescribed by the recipe.

My bread doughs double in no time when on this mat. My granite countertops stay cold, takes a while for dough to rise. This is absolutely perfect for making breads! Stores easily, too!

First, I want to say this product was exactly as described and was what I needed.Secondly, I know the product is for plants but I bought this for my bearded dragon and it works great. Saur(bearded dragon) loves sleeping on her heating pad it doesn't get too hot that I have to worry if its going to burn her. I love it. My next project is to use it for plants and grow some things in Saurs’ tank. Amazon thanks again for another great find.

Works great I have is attached to the inside wall of the cats house. I have it controlled to turn on or off at pre set temperatures. This along with his heated pad keeps him warm in the winter. It doesn’t get hot enough to burn him but gives off enough heat to keep him warm. Works perfect, the cat likes it.

I was surprised that this item came from USA. It had USA plug and not useable in UK. I tried using it using a plug converter. Within 30 mins it become hot to touch and not a good thing to do. You really need a voltage converter as USA uses 110 voltage which is different from UK.I returned it.
