We have a pontoon boat, and I needed a third pole to help with water run-off. This is very adjustable with a good wide base, so it doesn't tip over when putting the tarp over. It seems to be a good sturdy item. I have personally recommended this to my boater friends!

I used this pair to support my heavy denier canvas first used as a travel cover support on my 18 ft boat. When adding proper canvas strapping to the top, it stayed in position well and not falling over. However, I found twice on the road my rear pole would just collapse. I am not sure if this was due to vibration that untwisted the support pole in its upright position. I twisted them pretty tight. I'm still giving it 5 stars since it exceeds my expectation to withstand the travel and winds for 2 trips at 550 mi.For me I found the first install just tedious to cut my own strapping and buckles to secure the cover at the desired height.Update: 2nd and 3rd trip, 1 pole collapses under pressure continually. Twist lock seems to strip out. Contacting mfg... -2 stars

No matter how hard we tightened them (and my husband is quite strong) they would manage to slip back down into themselves after several days or a bad storm. The fix was easy, I extended the pole to where I needed it and then gorilla taped (black tape in photos) the pole right above were it slipped it. We just had a severe storm with insane rain and wind and they held up great. The initial install will take patience and time. Just using paracord tied to the boat failed because we couldn't adjust till they were evenly tight in all directions. Then we used paracord only to attach ratcheting cord on the mushroom top to secure each post to the boat in 4 directions. They are staying nice and secure. Most of the time was spent setting up the cords so reinstalling after using the boat will should only take 10 minutes, but expect the first time to go slow.We also only bought two at first. We have a pontoon boat and found we definitely needed 3. After our last storm we know 4 is going to do the magic and plan to order one more. So if your boat is really long save yourself the trouble and money, just order two 2-packs.

Just to hold cover up is okay, they tip over easily, if water accumulate they collapse easily

Struggled to keep the rain off my Jon boat cover she filling the boat, after some research these seemed to be the ones to get I’m glad I did! Not sure where the poor reviews are coming from besides operator error. With the cover properly cinched down there are held in place tightly with very little movement. I didn’t even install the straps for them I also ordered, the wide base holds them up great when properly installed, highly recommend!

These are a waste of money. They do not work, are very fragile, and require some adjustment.

I have bought 3 of these to manage my large canvas bow cover. My boat detailers lost one of the mushroom caps. I contacted Better Boat to ask about a replacement cap but they are only sold as a set. My service rep offered to send me a free one-time replacement pole set as a courtesy and on proof of purchase. In exchange for this I plan to buy other accessories from this family-owned U.S. business.

Liked everything about these. Large enough head to help prevent poking through the cover, sturdy base keeps the pole from falling. Has grooves for straps on the pole head in case you need it (I didn't). I should have bought 2 packs!

They work very well. Should help keep the snow off the cover.

So far it works good. Easy to set up. We’ll see in the spring when the snow melts whether it’ll hold the weight

Works well but is kind of expensive for what it's made from.Don't use it while towing! (no I didn't try, but others have...lol)A suggestion.....make a tapered plug that fits into the seat stand holes with a hole in the center for the vertical tube. Wind will never be able to blow it over!! I will have a couple 3D printed for ease of set-up.
