I've become an FET convert, will never go back to traditional BJ transistors. 10a was overkill for my project but won't ever need to worry about it failing. I only use it for 5 sec at a time at half an amp with 2.5a initial 3ms surge, then uses only 5-6ma full time. So I can't speak to longer high amp uses or heating but it can easily be used with a heat sink if needed. I would certainly buy these again.

I used this to repair a battery charger. The original (failed) part was rated at 6A. This runs a little cooler, probably due to it's lower on resistance. So far, success.
