My daughter is active, and these shorts are loose fitting and comfortable for her to wear all day. The modest length makes these perfect for school as well. She typically wears size 12, so I followed the size chart and ordered size 11-12 years. The fit is perfect, so I recommend following the size chart. I suggest washing inside out with like colors in cool water, and tumble dry on low to preserve the quality. These shorts are affordable and durable, and they have pockets for her to carry a couple small items. I highly recommend!
