About this item

  • Screw extractors – used for removing stripped screws, bolts and other fasteners
  • Left-hand flutes – grip the metal firmly
  • Heat-treated carbon steel – provides superior durability
  • Rolled threads – deliver more accuracy and are cleaner than machined threads
  • Rust- and tarnish-resistant design – provides greater durability and accuracy

Bosch spiral screw extractor sets feature extractors that are ideal for removing stripped screws, bolts and other fasteners. The left-hand flutes grip the metal firmly. Spiral flutes are used to remove stripped screws from harder materials (straight flutes are for removing stripped screws from softer material). made from heat-treated carbon steel, they are rust- and tarnish-resistant tools. The rolled threads are more accurate and cleaner than machined threads. They are tooled to the most exacting specifications. Laser-etched marking ensures size identification and won't wear off. They feature a precise flute design to ensure the flutes grip firmly.

Great tool very strong however I still managed to snap it on a stuck head bolt. It did however break the bolt free after trying everything else and letting some deep creep sit on it and hitting it with a chiesel a few time for a day or so

Had to pull out some stripped torx screws holding a brake rotor to a bike wheel. Took a little effort, but this set pulled out all three screws. Nothing broke. Worked great.

No machines were used, only operated by hand and it broke in 3 seconds under minimal torque. Did not work at all and the screw is now damaged with the head of the extractor stuck inside the stuck screw. This is probably a chinese copy or they have outsourced to some low quality supplier. Avoid this one and buy locally if you have to. Also there was no tool to use this set so I had to make a trip to the hardware store. Not worth returning broken, but I will throw this one in the trash because they are all so cheaply made and can cause injury if used properly

I used this for extracting bolts out of an old outboard with many stripped/broken bolts corroded into the block/heads, so the primary use was extracting stainless steel bolts from aluminum. I pulled 2-3 bolts out with this and it worked pretty well. Remember that the fluted extractor should be turned with a wrench--not with a drill, otherwise you will likely immediately break the extractor. And you should use generous amounts of PB Blaster/Kroil.Eventually, I did over-abuse this kit and broke an extractor off in a bolt and broke two of the drill bits attempting to get the extractor out. The bolt was actually turning when the extractor broke, so I kept turning even though the resistance built up and it felt aggressive. These extractor kits all require finesse, but I expected a little more from Bosch. I used a dremel to grind the extractor tip out, then drilled out the bolt the rest of the way.So the tool did eventually break, but it lasted longer than the other cheap kits I've gotten on Amazon. Overall, the kit is good, and had I been a little more gentle, it probably would not have broken, but in the end, it is still a basic fluted extractor kit so fairly limited and requires a significant amount of finesse and patience.I'll probably buy another to replace the broken extractor since this is still the best kit for the money on Amazon. The only thing I would change about the kit is to have reverse bits. The included bits are standard clockwise bits, and I don't really like drilling out bolts/screws clockwise.

I recently had a stripped bolt that was giving me a lot of trouble, and this BOSCH 12-piece set worked great to get it out. The spiral flute extractors grab onto the stripped bolt securely, making removal much easier than I expected. Just make sure to use the drill bits in reverse (counter-clockwise) when extracting to avoid further damage and ensure a proper grip. The set comes with a good variety of sizes, making it versatile for different tasks. Highly recommended if you’re dealing with stubborn stripped screws or bolts!

Had a transmission pan bolt snap off inside the female threading. The break was not flat so it was an incredibly sketchy surface for the bits to try and gain any amount of purchase. After patience finding the proper angle at which it would grab, it extracted the broken bolt with ease. This kit will come in handy for many years to come.

Nicely packaged kit. Drill bit broke on first use.

I heard about these from a youtube channel called "Project Farm". These were some of the better extractors that were tested. Removing broken bolts is a 50/50 operation. There are a lot of variables that effect whether or not bolt extractors work. They didn't work for the project I bought them for (I ended up drilling out the broken bolt and through bolting it), but I have used them a couple times on other jobs and mercifully they did work. As far as the quality of the product, they are made quite well and if you use them on a bolt that wants to cooperate they work fine.

I bought this to remove some rusted screws in masonry. Does not work. I removed them using a claw hammer instead
