Easy enough to put on and take off, my kids can do it themselves. They provide protection. Wish they didn't have the extra sleeve so they need to go over the feet/arms before strapping because we sometimes forget them before putting on the rollerblades. You can bypass the sleeve but my son is particular and wants it done correct. Another set we own of this brand doesn't have the sleeve and so the knee pads just strap onto your knee but don't have to go over your foot first. I like that better.
