ITEQ Brake Lining Thickness Gauge 8 Piece SAE & Metric Steel Constructions
The ITEQ Brake Lining Thickness Gauge Tool is a device that allows you to identify how much friction material is still available on the disc brake pad or brake shoe and determine whether the brake lining needs to be replaced.
It is not meant to serve as a precision measuring instrument, but rather as an indicator and visual aid in quickly determining how much brake pad is left.

I have used it three times changing the pads on Toyota Camry, Nissan 350Z and Nissan Altima. So far, it has worked great. The quality seems good and should last many years.

can you say the right tools for the job this is a perfect design to see brake ware indicator and not be bs at the dealership for a break job. Red is bad green is very good and yellow is fine to good besides the master cylinder level is another sign of ware the pads are going down; you do not add brake fluid to it.

It’s easy to use. Make sure to measure the friction material thickness not the whole pad. It’s accurate. One downside is the individual gauge sticks together after longtime not being used.

I like the material this gauge is made from, feels nice and sturdy, not flimsy. It makes it super easy to measure the brake pads on our vehicles when I'm performing maintenance to know when they should be replaced.

Made out of metal and has a heavy robust feel to it. Each gauge is 1.5mm thick so it would be difficult to accidently bend. I checked each gauge and the thickness matches the marking. Markings are stamped into the gauge and then covered with either red, yellow, or green paint or could be powder coating. The colour does correlate with Honda/Ford brake thickness colour warning signs on brake pad thickness. Each thickness gauge rotate around one pivot point that's secured with a locknut and feels stiff, but, that's good because I use the remaining one as a handle. I suppose I could loosen the locknut, but, as mentioned, I like the current stiffness.In addition to using it to measure remaining brake pads, I've used it to measure other things where it's next to impossible to use a ruler or a digital caliper. I'm even contemplating keeping it in my toolbox that I carry around.Recommend this purchase. I also feel that I will be using it for a long time.

This is a product that you can tell the manufacturer takes pride in what they produce. Nice, heavy construction, quality powder coating. One of my favorite Amazon purchases. Good value. Highly recommend.

The quality great and will last lifetime even for young car enthusiasts, but I found the paint was too thick making it very hard to read what the thickness is. Have to write in it with a permanent marker so it's easier to use. On a Toyota Highlander I had to remove one bolt an the caliper and loosen the other so I could open it slightly to see the thickness, as the Toyota caliper housing has very small openings on only one side , and it's misaligned to brake pad, and too small to read the thickness.
