The BSBMIEQM Brake Lining Thickness Gauge Tool is perfect for both the professional technicians and the DIY home mechanic,you can easily identify how much friction material is still available on the disc brake pad or brake shoe and determine whether the brake lining needs to be replaced.
It is not meant to serve as a precision measuring instrument, but rather as an indicator and visual aid in quickly determining how much brake pad is left.
Using this tool a technician or service advisor can make a recommendation to the customer about when they feel it may be necessary to replace their brake linings.

Nice solid set. I used my caliper to check the size. I only will use these when pads are nearing replacement. Since the dealership and or repair shop always are saying pads are nearing replacement of 2/32". So this is perfect tool for the tool box and a great price.

It's a little stiff to move, but I'm sure over time it will wear in and move better

Metal! Not plastic like others! After using plastic ones they will chip crack break bend warp. But after using these for awhile I’ll never use plastic ones again. I’ve dropped them several times fallen from 5-6’ and not a single bend. Paint may chip off on corners after heavy use or drop on rough grounds. Definitely recommend and will buy again!

The device is made metal so it can take some abuse. The screw holding the various measuring devices together is stiff and keeps everything on place.Look on YouTube for tutorials on how to use the device. Note this devices gives you an estimate of how much brake pads you have left not an exact number. However am estimate is all you really need.

Love this tool for when you need to keep an eye on your brakes and want to make the most of them. I am a do it yourself type as I was tired of getting ripped off now I do what I can. This tool's quality is excellent highly recommend purchasing!

Easy for service writer to show customer where their brake wear is. It's worth a thousand words when I can just take out the device and show them what they should look like new and where they are now.
