When your valve guide shifts and starts causing your pushrods to bend - make sure you reseat the valve guide. After you reseat the guide, these are a perfect replacement to restore your B&S engine to working order.Unfortunately, the first time I did this, I didn't realize the valve guides were the REAL problem... This is my second set.

The pushrods I received are genuine Briggs & Stratton but they are not the same length as the original. I’m thinking it’s to help eliminate excessive heat so the valve bushings don’t come out of the head and cause a failure. The pushrods installed fairly easy but tapping the valve bushings back in to the head had some challenges but nothing drastic. Any way I got the pushrods installed and will update after I use the mower. Also remember when installing pushrods make sure they the same length., run them in matched pairs.

Perfect fit for my John Deere LA140 Briggs V-twin (Model 445577). One head overheated due to a mouse nest and caused the valve guide to move. This broke the intake pushrod in two and bent the exhaust pushrod. I carefully removed all the bent/broken pieces and filled the cylinder with rope and compressed it to hold the valves in place. Then I removed the valve springs and got to work on the slipped guide. I grooved it with a Dremel cutoff wheel and coated it with high temp loctite, then carefully tapped it back in place. I then reinstalled the springs and rockers along with these new pushrods and the engine runs like a top! I’ve put about 30 hours on it since the repair and it’s been running fine. Keep your engine clean and free from mice nests and you won’t have to buy any more of these pushrods.

Make sure the measurements and diameter of rod is listed. There are many sizes of pushrods. If you don't have the part number it's very hard to find what you need without measurements listed in description
