I had this idea to use my mini spreader to put down salt on my driveway during the winter.(Which works great by the way!)I wanted the cover to keep snow from getting into the hopper and clogging up the spreader.This little cover is the perfect fir.Elastic all the way around with a clear plastic view window in the center for easy viewing of how much material is left in the hopper.I plan to use it during the summer months also to keep the fertilizer dust down.Great value for the money.

I got this cover to use on my spreader in the rain. And it works. I like to cover my spreader just before or as it rains. This way seed goes down and it gets a good soaking. It does a great job and I can see through it perfectly when I need to refill the spreader!

So obviously you wouldn’t want to keep fertalizer in your spreader for a long storage… but temporarily this will Keep fertilizer dry and debris out while using! It also keeps the dust down as you use it. Big bonus. I don’t know how much I needed this in my life, until now.

The size says it fits spreaders with tops that are 18" W x 16" D, but this one worked for my Scott's SpeedyGreen 3000, which is 23"W x 14.5" deep (see photos). The PVC window allows you to see into the hopper to see how much is left as you're spreading fertilizer or other granules, and the elastic material holds it in place securely. It also comes with a zippered carrying case, which seems unnecessary, but it is there if you want to "store" your spreader cover. I just leave my in the bin. This cover is great to keep material in the bin dry when it's raining, as well as keeping the chemical dust away from me when shaking the spreader to get the last bit out when using it in dry weather. Great product for the price, and will work for most spreaders, given that it expands and contracts with the elastic material used at its base.

Well, shame on me. I thought I was ordering a copycat broadcast spreader WITH a cover at a good price; not a cheap cover ONLY. I can still use the cover on my old, worn out spreader but I NEVER would have purchased such a pointless accessory especially for a premium pricepoint; this is the kind of cheap junk that you'd expect to get for free when you bought the spreader new but would still probably throw it away. There's no reason for something like this - don't buy it. Store your chemicals properly and save your $$$
