This item is great! It is very sturdy, and looks nice. The one that came with our vacuum was ugly and broke, but this one seems to be nicer and better made. There is a small slat that allows for the circular push buttons on some attachments to fit in and stay on. My vacuum and attachments dont need that, but if yours does, you can be happy knowing this one will work. And this is for all universally sized vacuum items. I didn't know if all of my stuff would work with this, but it does. I also bought an attachment off amazon to go with this and that worked with this extender too.Overall, I would definitely rebuy if my other attachment broke.

Works well enough. The slide is smooth and the connection end for accessories works as expected. The top end that connect to the vacuum handle/hose is the worst part (though it's not terrible). It just feels mushy and doesn't cleanly connect/disconnect. You have to sort of feel around on the release button to get it to disconnect.

I chose this wand because it had 3 features important to me and this wand fails on all 3.1. The toggle that lets you expand or contract the rod is so flimsy and just sits in this inadequate track causing it to fall out all the time. It’s a pain in the balls to put back together.2. Despite this being a NuTone wand attached to a NuTone floor brush, it’s permanently lodged on there because the little tiny disconnect button requires an unreasonable amount of force to get it through the hole and off. You’d think pieces from the same company would be more compatible.3. The same connecting mechanism that attaches to the central vacuum hose on the other end is way too weak. I’ll be vacuuming and the wand will disconnect itself from the hose and just swirl around as I vacuum resulting in less control. I constantly need to use both hands to “find the hole†to reconnect it, several times during one vacuuming session.Overall, this piece is more aggravating than useful.

I saw a lot of bad reviews on this but decided to try it and I'm glad I did. Perfect fit on my 30 year old whole house vacuum. Durable easily adjustable.

While this is not the electric version, it works well for my needs. I use it in the garage to connect to a NUTONE CH615, which has its own on / off switch. The garage has NUTONE outlets, so it works great when trying to clean hard to reach places such as the ceiling corners and remove dirt and cobwebs. Naturally the opposite end attaches to all NUTONE accessories. Everything snaps into place.

Came stuck in short position. Very hard to open. Button release for hose in/out is plastic junk that does not work, so we removed it and push button by hand. That is painful and risky. Try customer service only if you have hours to wait on hold.Chrome parts mating with very tight-fitting other chrome parts like the hose get stuck and create shavings. If they had engineers, they would know this is called galling. Too many basic faults that previous (our original Nutone) fixed length pipe does not put customer through. Buy plastic from someone else.

This OEM replacement appears to be identical to the original "wand" I purchased as part of a high-end Nutone central vacuum system. Why did I have to replace the original wand you ask? Because it no longer "locked" open in the fully extended mode after about 20 months of regular -- that is, once a week -- use in a 1800 sq ft bungalow. It may look funny but certainly is no fun vacuuming hardwood floors while watching your wand contract as you reach under furniture! Nutone customer service had never fielded this complaint, they told me, when I called looking for service. Of course, the wand failed beyond warranty period and Nutone sells to retail customers only at MSRP. Hello Amazon. The new wand locks and works perfectly. Here's hoping for 24 plus months of performance!!!

We wanted a second wand so we didn't have to swap the head each time we went from carpet to hardwood. This worked perfectly and the easily adjustable length makes it perfect for both of us to use.

Just received it and plugged it to the central vacuum, works just well.After a while, it stopped clicking and holding its position, you have to play with it in order that it clicks back on.
