My printer was really messing up - leaving lines and streaks and gaps. A new toner cartridge did not help the problem. Did a little research and figured it was the drum unit. Simple directions to do the replacement. Ta-da! Works like new.

I had been having issues with faded pages. I cleaned the drum head-more than once. Even replaced the cartridge with a new one and nothing helped. Read up on it and it did sound like it was the drum head, so decided to gamble and spend the money for a new drum, rather than a whole new unit. IT WORKED!!!! I am so pleased with this, as I like my machine and didn't want to go through the hassle of installing a new one on my computers. It saved me a ton of money and the item shipped really fast! I'd do it again in a heartbeat and with this company! Just awesome!!!! Thank you!

I really like this Brother Laser Printer, but it has been printing poorly for the past few months.Wondered if it was software, the network, etc, but turns out to be the old drum.Easy to replace, and works perfectly.

Product works great but $98 is a little ridiculous for a piece of plastic. However it does indeed do the job.

Popped right in and in so doing, my prints came out clean and sharp. I'm sticking with the real parts (Brother) from now on.

I've owned many printers over the years and they are usually just throw-aways. This printer from Brother is the exception. I exhausted the print limit and needed a new drum unit. I spent the money and got this item from Brother, through Amazon, because there seemed to be too many issues with the third party or knock-off versions of this drum unit. I figured if a printer is actually going to last this long, and produce quality print, then I will spend the money and continue to support the parent company. By the way, in addition to all the printing this unit has done, I've scanned more than 50,000 documents. Most of that number was my scanning every document in my file cabinet and every hard copy picture I could fit on the scanner bed. I continue to be happy with this printer.

I think I received a faulty drum. Usually these last me 2 years or more. I got this one of March 2019 and it is August 2019 and my printer keeps stopping and the drum light keeps coming on. I am not sure if this was a refab or not.

I bought this item because my Brother printer is about 4 years old and it was flashing a message indicating the drum needed to be replaced---it also was making a creaking sound when I printed documents. I bought this item, it took about 90 seconds to install, and my printer is working just fine now. I should also mention that the box this came in says it is genuine Brother equipment (despite what some other purchases of this item have posted on this site).
