Mine lasted about 2 years. Now the power is dead, and i know the connection to electrical outlet is good. I ride Lyft, so to get the printer to service would cost me for round trip, and I have no idea of what the repair cost would be. I am now looking for a new fax printer that is not made by Brother. My first Intellifax was good and lasted a long time.

I have this machine at another job; never any problems sending, receiving or making copies, so I ordered this to replace an HP that kept pulling paper off center, creating jams. Only a few faxes have arrived so far, but they have been very clear. This machine seems to be just as great as at the other job.

A year old, maybe used 10 times, and it's dead! Brother refuses to trouble shoot. I've never had such a lemon and no service from Brother is a shock.

Excellent dedicated fax. Very easy to setup and configure. Only slight criticism is the screen which is small and not that easy to see if you're at the wrong angle/height.

In an attempt to jump on the eco bandwagon Brother have built in a "feature" called deep sleep. By which when the machine is not used for some time ie over a weekend it enters deep sleep thus using less electricity. The tiny problem with this is that it cannot be disabled and having entered deep sleep it is almost impossible to wake. The theory is that it wakes upon receiving a fax or by someone lifting the handset, no it does not, it wakes by having to remove all of the connections and wait 5 minutes before replacing them, Brother may call this a "feature" but I call it a pain. Fortunately I made a point of buying from Amazon, not an Amazon seller so I know they will accept it back an back it is going and it's my last Brother product.
