This review is for the silver color bumblebee door knocker.I like this doorknocker. When I got the package I was impressed with the weight. I recently got another doorknocker with a lions face and that one felt cheap and like it was made out of aluminum. So I decided not to use it. This one is heavy duty and is for sure solid. It isn't all that big so make sure you look at the measurements they show. I measured mine a touch smaller than that even but not drastically. Their wingspan shows 4.75in while I measured mine around 4.25in. And my length is more about 3.5in and not 4in. The bee does have good detail on the backside. They really didn't clean up the inside too much, but I guess no one should really see that once mounted.I have 2 small issues with this. First, I didn't get the 2 mounting screws for this. I probably would have used my own screws anyway but still. Something that is listed should be included. And the second is more about the design and function. I feel like the knocker part needs something to grab to knock. The whole back of the bee is the knocker but it's just not easy or intuitive to grasp and use as a knocker. I will say that I do like how it does knock on itself and not the door.

This is beautiful. It’s very heavy. This is really meant for a solid wooden door, though. This comes with very thin, short screws. This door knocker is so heavy that I don’t even know if I would trust these screws with a solid wood door.As it happens, my door is hollow, so I need bolts that can screw into the interior side. It’s a little annoying that this door knocker only comes with short screws, but fine, I went to a hardware store. Here’s the real kicker: the diameter of the pre-drilled holes in the door knocker is so small. Only size 6-32 bolts will fit, and even the big chains and small mom and pop stores really don’t carry a lot of options for that. So I had to buy a pack of like 8, and that comes with nuts, not acorns, to secure the bolts to the interior side of my door. Acorns will have to be purchased separately. Since I will need to have the bolts poke through the interior side of the door, I’d like the them to look nice (meaning I really need acorns, not nuts, and I would ideally like cute acorns, which doesn’t exist at this small diameter). If you will need to bolt this *through* your door, you’ll need your own hardware, and it’s not easy to find because of how small the holes are. The smallest pack of acorns for this diameter is like 25-50, so in total, I’ll need to spend another $15 *minimum* to make this work, and I’ll end up with a bunch of other hardware that I’ll never need (if I haven’t needed this diameter in my life yet, I don’t see it happening 50 more times in this life).

This door knocker is gorgeous, and it makes a loud knocking sound. Our dilemma is that we have a steel door, we were intending to put it up with industrial strength double-sided tape, but it is just too heavy. If you have a wooden door this would work great!
