(See photos). For $40 you may find a similar rated, but probably not as nice rope and hook. This set is worth the cost. The hook's spring does not bind but long term not knowing the metal type, it may rust on you once the paint wears off. The cotter pin works and only needs to hold the pin in place, but I always want more durable components. The main pin on the hook is the weak point by design only second to the rope.Like usual the problem with installation is the existing steel cable with memory . Installing is easy once you get past the old cable removal. Then you have a nice bright yellow rope to show off.Get synthetic rope just for the safety factor alone!

Even the box looks good. Effort, and thought was put into this rope. A box isn't worth anything, but it does show a little bit of pride in the product. I can't speak on the longevity of it, as I haven't abused it. However, its going to work just fine for pulling our industrial AC cabbed mower secure on the trailer.

The clevis hook on the rope seems very massive compared to the rope. No worries about that bending.

I have a 10,000 pound winch and was thinking about replacing the rope. My vehicle is about 5000 pounds. This cable is about half of the diameter as my current cable and the forged hook is about half the size as well. This might be fine for lighter vehicles or ATVs. I definitely would not trust it for vehicles over 3000 pounds. I inspected the box and no where does it state the weight limitations of the rope or the hook. I will test it out moving some large trees but with great care.
