Overall, my experience with the tail wagon has been great, my dog likes it. I typically ride on a bike trial that has steep hills and sharp turns and was worried about tip over accidents but the trailer is exceptionally stable. That's what matters to me most. There are a couple of issues worth mentioning. Unfolding the frame is supposed to be easy. The front and back is held together with a clip, but bringing the frame in position to clip together took a lot of push and pull. The instruction warned not to pinching the fingers, however it did not give any hints on how to prevent injury and I did end up with a blue fingernail. The bottom is made of lightweight cardboard-like material. The front corners tend to pop out of position and started to frail. I wish there was a better way to keep it secured to the frame. The wheel has a push button to attach and release. The plastic covering over the button fell off on the first trip and I now have a bandaid over it to keep the dirt out. The canvas material seems durable, but the mash windows are less so and I already have some small holes. Ideally, the mash would be removable, but it's not. For larger damage the entire shell needs to be replaced, that sounds like a waste. The back flap is closed with elastic loops. If a dog really wants to get out it can slip out from under the flap. There is no built in hook to attach the leash. One thing I really miss is a wheel break for parking. When my dog jumps in or out the wagon starts rolling and the momentum can tip over the bike.

I bought the Tail Wagon trailer based upon the Burley reputation. I have a 35 lb mini aussie-doodle that will be riding with me and it seems the perfect sized trailer for him.Assembly went smoothly and the engineering is superb. I will be using it for the first time this weekend and will update my review afterwards.

Could have been really nice. The extremely simple instructions should be very painless, as all you need to do is unfold two bars and clip into place. But they had sewn the material so tight that the two bars would not meet. I had to use screwdrivers as pry bars and pinched my finger between and couldn't get it release. It was excruciating and took a second person with a little pry bar to release my finger... uhggg! my fingernail is blue. So within 3 minutes the thing looks like it's a couple years old full of scratches. We finally got forcefully clipped into place.. but now it is so tightly clipped I cannot fold it back up for portability. Would have been nice looking though. I would call it defective and try it again.

I can’t believe this trailer sells. There is no roof opening for dogs head. The front up is dangerous and dog can jump out and the back open even worse. Watch YouTube’s and look for something cheaper and better designed. The also took off pouches and kick stand etc. so sad I have to start over.

This item is pricey but really well made and easy to assemble. The directions were easy to understand. It has a hard bottom so you may want to put a pad on the floor. It will fit a couple is small dogs or a large dog easily. I would have hoped for the price it would have had a restraint inside to hook up to a harness, but no. I used one of my car restraints and jury rigged it to the frame. It worked ok. Now for the bad news. My dogs hates this trailer. He did the high pitched anxiety bark every time. I thought short rides to a park close to home would help him learn that good things come from this. After daily rides for a month no luck. He never adjusted so now this expensive rig is parked in my garage. Too bad. I wanted to help us both to be able to get some exercise when the pavement is too hot to walk on. He has the park, I have the bike. Hope you have better luck.

I love everything about it, except that it doesn't tow in line with the centerline of my recumbent trike. It tows like it's not there, and my dog loves the Burley dog bed I got with it

The wagon is fairly well made but not as robust as the advertisement would lead you to believe. After only two uses my small dogs had managed to rip the mesh on the cover. There was no point in getting a replacement as they would just rip that. I have bought a replacement that also has a rain cover ( shame the original did not include this) I will have to buy some stronger mesh to stop the dogs breaking, the cover!
