I had a small hole rusted thru on my exhaust between the engine and the catalytic converter. It was going to cost hundreds to replace the section of pipe on a 40-year-old truck. I used one of these clamps in conjunction with the aluminum exhaust tape and made a great prepare for about $25.It has been holding up fine so far.I intended for it to be temporary until I can get around to getting the truck to a shop. But I may just leave it as well as it has worked.

I normally dislike butt-clamps for exhaust, but these actually compress enough to hold both pipes very well. They are subject to tearing where the bolts go through though, and I don't know if you will be able to get a very good seal with these as it is difficult to get them fully clamped onto the spacer in the middle of the open section of the clamp.

The product ended up being OK, but just OK. I was expecting to connect a short piece of flexible exhaust tubing to a generator. I used a Walker 1.5" flexible tubing. It so happens that flexible tubing is slightly larger in diameter than the solid tubing piece coming from the generator. This means the connection would not work well on the flexible side of the Butt Joint. To do the work, I had to remove the solid connection plate on the bottom of the Butt connector and threw it away. I could then get it to clamp to both sides satisfactorily. However, this left a small gap where the two tubes came together. I used a high-heat JB weld to cover the gap, and the assembly did work. But it should have been mentioned that it was not appropriate for flex to solid tubing applications.

Used these clamps to install a resonator on my car. Magnet test shows they are true stainless steel (clamps only, bolts are not stainless) would recommend. For the price, they are great! Would buy again!
