Your cart is empty.This is the recommended sealant for installing Tuf-Tite or Polylok Risers. This item can be used to seal the Tuf-Tite 24" TAR, 20" TAR, and 16" TAR adapter rings. It should also be used in between each Tuf-Tite riser products to ensure you have a water tight seal at all your connections. This should also be used when installing a Polylok 3009-AR adapter ring.

Used this Butyl sealing rope to seal a septic tank lid. Unfortunately my tank opening is right at the edge of a deck. Due to the proximity of a lake we are subject to 3 year inspections. So to make the process easier we chose to put a riser ring on the tank to avoid digging down to the concrete lid. During this process we became aware that with the lid exposed we were subject to occasional fumes emitting from the tank lid. When that concrete lid was replaced with the riser and new lid which was sealed with the Butyl sealing rope it was all good. A year plus in and never a whiff of unpleasantness.

I used this while installing TuffTite risers on my septic tank. It was easy to use and seals well when fastening the riser with Tapcon screws. I used just over one roll to install two 16" diameter risers, with two layers where the adapter ring meets the tank and one layer where the riser meets the adapter ring.

i used this for a 24" tuff-tite septic riser install. i carefully ran a bead, slightly pulling to thin, into the groove between the flat and the actual riser all the way around. i then ran 2 beads, not pulling or thinning, around the bottom of the flat. i had about 6" left over. it tacks well enough to stay put and yet, if you just set it down, and want to move it, you can. it presses out easy when pressure is applied.i do recommend 2 people setting on the septic because if you set it down and try to work with the end, you tend to knock the roll over a lot. let someone hold the roll. i used latex gloves and with light touch, did not have any issues.this stuff is sticky and leaves black traces so be aware of what it touches. i would not recommend cardboard as it would likely stick to that, but wood under the prep area is fine.

I hate to do this to the product/seller but the product was good but the packaging/shipping by Amazon was really poor. For a product that is by design sticky... when Amazon decides to put in a soft sided package with other items.... the sticky rope deforms and touches other rope so now I have a mess. I think I can salvage but a 8th grader would have known to package better - probably some algorithm that needs adjusting. I don't have another way to provide that kind of feedback to Amazon so have to leave it here. Another option is the seller having to have these in a slim box so Amazon cannot screw it up. I RECOMMEND the product but not this POS.
