Your cart is empty.The SaltDogg TGS07 11 Cubic Foot Tailgate Spreader is a large volume commercial tailgate spreader. It features a horizontal auger, stainless steel trough, and an included concealed 200 lb-capacity vibrator that allows it to spread bulk salt or a sand/salt mix from 3/4 ton and 1 ton trucks. The spreader has a low-profile, 11 cubic foot hopper available in black, red and yellow. The hopper's frameless, double-wall poly construction is durable and highly corrosion resistant. The spreader mounts to a 2 in. Class 4 hitch with patented horizontal and vertical adjustment. Its 12 in. poly spinner can cast material up to 30 ft. A 1/2 HP, 12V dual shaft gear motor is controlled by an included variable speed in-cab controller.

Typical salt dogg controller issues. But I have a few already. I switch controller out with a boss and it’s fine. Other then controller issues it’s a solid product. I would not recommend it, but we have several already and it’s easier to stay with them to rotate of a truck if the the truck goes down. Other then that there are much better spreaders out there.

I had my doubts when I purchased this. Turned out to be great. My sand is stored inside so it’s mostly dry but I had no jamming issues at all. We fed 3 yards of salt and 12 yards of sand through it this winter.The vibrator is a must and it must run almost the entire time you are spreading.

The pros it’s a poly assembly so it’s light easy to put on with 2 to 3 people only takes about 13 bags of rock salt that is sufficient enough to cover most basic things. Con though it has a very weak motor where I am on gear for and went through so far three motors. em replaced five bearings. if you were gonna get this, just be prepared to keep maintenance up on it.

I would have bought it from another company and paid more to get it quicker. It is a salt spreader the extra week I waited I lost money by not having it
