Cable Matters does it again with this excellent DMX cable. This is a solidly built cable. Pins and connecrtor are firm and have good continuity. Highly recommend.

Excellent quality that perfectly meets the needs of a home studio. It shortens the cord length for desktop mic stands—ideal for both voice-over work and singing, which I personally do.

The packaging for this cable was very spartan, but it was delivered with no physical issues. The fit-and-finish of the cable is excellent and there are no rough or unfinished edges. tested the cable with three different microphones, an MXL R144 ribbon mic, a standard Audio-Technica AT2020, and a Blue Spark XL. It worked as any audio cable should, free of distortion or other issues that would affect a recording. The connectors clip in nice and snug with no wobble--certainly the manufacturing tolerances are very accurate. This isn't the thickest or most robust cable in terms of thickness, but should serve most non-studio users quite well.

Individually heat shrinked connections? Beautiful twisting of the ground with no apparent lost conductors? Evidence of a good secure clamp by the strain relief? No evidence of overheating in the plastic around the female connections? I don't even make cables this good! Color me impressed, Cable Matters.

Using this cable to interconnect 2 stage lights and it works perfect. 10ft makes a huge difference than normal 6 ft cables, and it gives that little extra length you need at times. The jacket seems durable and well made, and the thickness is what you would expect from a quality cable.

What can I say? This cable is great quality from the connectors down to the actual cable itself. Well shielded and makes a firm connection. The only thing I don’t like is that the packaging lists this as a “DMX/XLR†cable (also printed on the sheath) when this is ONLY a DMX cable! Even though they have the same connectors, DMX cables like this are rated at 110 Ohm and rated for digital data… and NOT designed to carry shielded, balanced microphone output like XLR cables which are typically beefier and rated closer to 50-75 Ohm.
