The Cable Matters Low Voltage Surface Mount Backbox provides a convenient solution for installing network or communications cables on a wall or furniture.
Important Note:
Fits a standard sized faceplate with a width of 2.76 inches. Proprietary-sized faceplates must be used with the products from the same vendor.
Sturdy Surface Mount Backbox
1) ABS plastic with UL 94V-0 safety rating
2) Screw keyholes for mounting
3) Multiple exit points for dressing cables
Simple Installation
4) Secure the faceplate onto the backbox with screws from the faceplate

Excellent quality boxes for the price. Buying these in the bulk pack saves a little bit of $ over buying them from the electrical suppliers or big-box home improvement stores. However, our favorite feature was the actual design of the boxes! The one-piece body makes for easy installation, and the construction is durable. The wide opening at the front of the box (compared to other popular brands of surface-mount boxes) allows easy installation of larger A-V devices such as HDBaseT Wall Plates and multiple audio connectors.

Some reviews mention the threaded inserts are wrong, and this is incorrect. But I have found that some faceplates sold on Amazon in the USA come with metric screws.

I used these to mount some Wifi access points on concrete block walls.They have thin spots on each side where it is easy to use a file and open up a channel for a wire to pass through.Several different options for attaching to the wall. I didn't end up using the included screws since I was going into block. I used concrete screws.

Does the job. And it's easy to drill additional holes in the plastic if needed.
