I had built in cabinets installed and didn't even think about remote access for all my devices. So was a little bummed when I realized I had to keep the doors open to control anything. I searched many options and came across this product. So glad I found it. Cheaper than everything else and was super easy to set up. I have the receiver plugged into the usb on the surge protector and the transmitter attached to the cabinet door. So far everything is working perfectly and I can keep my cabinet doors closed. 🤗 Now I just need to organize all my cords.

My wood shop's dust collector sits behind a wall so the IR remote doesn't work unless I open the door and point the the remote directly at the unit. This is the perfect solution. I can now use the machine's remote from anywhere in the shop. It's a very cost-effective solution, easy to setup and works great.

I bought this because my center channel speaker is just high enough to block the tv remote sensor. I set this up as recommended and it works great! Two issues: 1st- the adhesive on the sensor is junk. It’s already started to peel off after being mounted for less than 3 hours. That’s an easy fix though. 2nd- the unit is powered through usb that you can hook up to your tv. The issue is, at least with my Samsung tv, is when it’s powered off, the unit is not getting power. Therefore I cannot turn on my tv without getting up and pointing the remote at the TV’s sensor behind the center channel. The work around was to plug the usb into my Xbox because even when off, the usb port will still supply power. Two easy work arounds to consider when purchasing. Still very happy with this purchase!

Works beautifully at a bargain price.I was unhappy with it at first as it didn’t seem to work at the distance advertised. I had to bring my remote within 6-7 feet of the receiving module before it would register. I was about to send it back with a nasty note when it dawned on me that perhaps the issue was with the remote. I put a fresh battery in the remote and now I can be across the room and it works. So, keep in mind a weak battery means a weak signal from your remote.

This little guy works great. Extended my IR control from about 3' to 15-16' AND with a much wider side view. Can hardly tell it's there other than I can control my quad splitter now from my recliner. Simple to install. RECOMMENDED

Got this device to put my Xbox out of sight into a cabinet. Everything works like it should. Obviously, the adhesive is terrible, just expect to come up with your own solution.More importantly, the advertised range of the receiver working for 15 feet from your remote is not accurate. Ours stopped working about 10 feet away. Which is unfortunate because our couch is roughly 11 feet away from where I wanted the receiver. Also, unless you're within a foot or two of the receiver, it won't detect a button hold (necessary to turn off an Xbox), but just registers it as a single press.I intend to return this and replace it a wireless IR blaster that advertises it works 30 feet away.

Bought this item, it works great, but there was one major design flaw -- incomplete instructions:I had some issues with getting the IR signals to the receiver, so I popped open the plastic housing with a fingernail and immediately saw the thing they did--the IR receiver part was mounted pointing upward instead of forward. I tilted it away from the PCB (printed circuit board) and pointed it straight out. Now it works perfectly! If you mount it the way I did (with the cord facing away from you), make the same modification as I did. If you mount it with the cord vertical (down or up), do NOT modify it as the design is already optimized for this use case. Also, you pretty much must have line of sight to the receiver. Basically, there should be better instructions on how to mount it.Also, I have it attached directly to my Wi-Fi router (which the Amazon listing says not to do) but the proximity to the router doesn't seem to matter.

I replaced an ancient Harmony remote that used a saucer sized, mains powered IR blaster with a newer programmable remote with the IR transceiver in the front of the remote. It worked fine with our TV, but with an old Roger's cable box in the TV stand was intermittent and often did not work at all. I got this, pushed the cable box to the very back of the cabinet (so it was shielded from sunlight, etc), put the big end of on top of the cabinet right under the TV's IR transceiver, and the little end in the cabinet an inch or so in front of the cable box transceiver -- had to do a bit of research to figure out exactly where that was in the front panel, but once I got it in the right place this completely solved the problem and has been working 100% for months since then. The USB jack in the back of the cable box provides the extender power. Unobtrusive, cheap, simple, and a real sort of life saver.

Our Blu-Ray player is located in a unit which is out of the line of sight of the infrared remote control when you're sitting watch a film. Consequently, any time you need to pause, rewind, eject etc a film, you have to stand, point the remote at the player, and keep stabbing buttons until the player responds (it never works first time). It's a frustrating experience and often spoils enjoyment of the film. To fix the problem, I'd initially tried to buy a new Blu-Ray player that has a wireless remote, rather than an IR remote - like all our other AV devices we have in the room - but it appears such a player does not exist, at any price. It seems the only remedy is an IR relay. The Cable Matters Infrared Remote Extender Cable was quickly installed and worked straight away. After a bit of experimentation (hint - tape the receiver and emitter in position with masking tape at first to find the most effective location, before using the attached adhesive to fix them permanently in position). The receiver is sensitive enough for you not to need a clear line of sight for it to respond, the devices are small enough that you barely notice them and it works first time, every time. Watching films at home is now a much more enjoyable experience. So, problem solved - and for a great deal less than the cost of a new Blu-Ray player.
