UPDATE as of 12/30: I returned the book and was sent one that works wonderfully. I spoke to the Company, Cali Books that sells these through Amazon besides having their website. The rep said my book should have come fully charged with NO issues. The second one did and we are extremely pleased.The book has to be charged to work. I charged it, light went from red to green, so I assumed that it charged fully I made sure the switch was ON, and still nothing. I know the Company Calibooks offer a 100% guarantee /warranty but It is sad for it not to work when it is a GIFT for the Holidays. The book was wrapped in plastic and was absolutely brand new.

I rarely write reviews but felt like I needed to share for other parents. My 14 month old got this book and within 3 minutes had the back open exposing the button battery. She was trying to turn the last page not realizing it was the end and the back just came right apart. I had no idea there was even a button battery in the rechargeable ones. Thank goodness I was right there with her! Don’t let you babies play with these unsupervised!
