Needed some crank baits to fish the surf in central California. These were great. Hook quality looks and feels suspect but I didn't experience any rusting or bent hooks during my trip. Grew up fishing passively on lakes and beaches but now love active fishing. Sometimes conditions preclude lures and the like but when the water and surf conditions are right- this is a great and economical option.

The only downside of this lure is the swimming action only works well at quick speeds, definitely more for bit trolling etc than for shore casting.

Love this lure for early striper season in the West Coast surf! Good action for perch as well! Only lure that has a spinner at the end hook.

Holding up very well for surf fishing. No rust with basic care after use. Recommended. ðŸ‘

I have been using the Calissa Sardine Glow 110 for only a couple months now. Mainly for surfperch, halibut and striped bass on the California coast and in the Bay Area. I have also been using its competitors products as well for my own observation and comparisons. I will say that I really prefer the action of the Calissa over the others!Seems like the Calissa has more of a roll with the back and forth action as the bait swims through the water. From my further observations, the competitors baits have the back and forth action only.In my opinion, the roll to the action of the bait just adds more action to entice fish to strike. As for casting the Calissa. I found that the Calissa flew truer through the air than the competitors. At least more times out of 10, the competitors would helicopter through the air during casting. Resulting in shorter cast distances and shorter retrieves. The only thing I dislike about the Calissa are the hooks. I think Calissa should upgrade they're hooks and maybe charge a little more for their product. Most of us are paying $2 to $3 more just to upgrade the hooks. I would also love an opportunity to sit down and come up with some color schemes for stripers here on the Bay Area beaches, inside of the bay and the delta. Stripers absolutely love plugs that have a roll to the action.I think Calissa is going to be a plug that's going to be around for some time.I hope anyways.
