This shade replaced an old venetian blind above our kitchen sink. Because the window frame is too shallow for an inside mount, I mounted it on the top of the window trim. The mounting process is pretty simple. The shade and hardware are good quality. The material lets a lot of light through, which is ideal for a kitchen.

I have purchased six of these shades in various sizes. I like that the company has so many different sizes and really random sizes as my windows are all different. The installation was really easy and the shades are nice. The customer service is great! One of my boxes was damaged in shipping and the hardware to install was missing. Even though I had placed the order months ago, I was able to contact the company through Amazon and they responded within 24 hrs. They requested proof of purchase and once provided, they sent me a replacement box of hardware in less than a week. Would definitely purchase again.

I very much like the clean lines of the shade and its frame. Also, it is lightweight (in terms of suitability when hung from wooden framing above the window). I found the drawings of the parts were well-done. However, the description of outside and inside mounting and the drawings of the outside and inside walls were confusing to me. The main drawback is that nowhere in the description of the shade (on the Amazon site) does it tell you that one cannot hang these shades next to each other in a "boxed" recessed space..... because, once the metal brackets are mounted on the wooden framing above the window, the shade can only be mounted by sliding it into the mounts from the left or the right side, and inserting/sliding the top of the shade through the first, then the second ceiling-attached holder. Once the first shade is installed (in a "boxed" area), there is no space to slide the second one into the mounts. This means the shades cannot be installed side-by-side. Since the company prefers you order one shade to make sure it will work for you, I did so, and installed the shade, only realizing after I had ordered the second shade, that the only way it can be installed is to place it about 2 Inches further out from the first shade so there will be space to slide it into the holders. It's only in our finished basement, but I did not expect this installation method (as other shades I have installed were slightly rotated just beneath the ceiling mounted holders and clicked upward into the holders/brackets).

I recently moved into a mobile home. The windows and doors are uncommon sizes so finding blinds for the windows was difficult. I stumbled upon these and ordered 1 set to see how they would fit and if installation would be easy. As soon as I installed that set, I immediately ordered them for the rest of the windows. Installation was a breeze-I hung them all myself in under an hour and a half in the entire house. They look really clean and modern and provide just enough light filtering to create privacy while also letting in sunlight. They also open and close so easily and evenly. 100% worth every penny!

These Calyx honeycomb shades are pretty good. I had to replace a similar shade after the drawstring broke, making it useless. I looked for a new shade to replace it, from Amazon to Walmart, and all of them were too expensive or too cheap (duh). I came across this company while surfing, and they looked pretty good on paper, and the price was right. One thing to consider when you're replacing one shade is the hue (color) as compared to the rest of them. You should also pay attention to the cubic size of the "honeycomb" of your prexisting Cellular shades. I was pleased to see Calyx provided these particular shades in the shade (pun intended) I needed. The honeycomb's were a perfect match too. These shades are sans drawstring, and they lift and lower just like the more expensive brands. The drawstrings on cordless shades, ( almost all shades now come "cordless" because long drawstrings were a hazard to small kids), are replaced by a bottom mounted handle that works to keep the shades free of fingerprints and God knows what else. And, compared to other cordless shades, they were really easy to install. I bought them, I like them, the price is right, try them.

Perfectly good quality, I'm just not a fan of how transparent they are. I already have privacy/sheer curtains, so I'll unfortunately have to get the blackout version of the same shades. I had done that on my eastern windows already, so I'll be purchasing the exact same shades from Calyx just the blackout version. You can see from the picture this version blocks almost no light whatsoever.FWIW, these are exactly the same as the Bali shades. I ordered from both companies and they are literally exactly the same- probably exact same mfg plant. They are also super quiet to pull down or close up, nice quality.Also, if you're mounting on the inside of the windows, recognize the precise measurement of what you need because these come in very exact sizes. For instance my windows are 30.5" wide on the inside, so I first ordered 30.5". They fit... sort of. I could press-fit everything to just fit, but you can't pull down the shades because they would drag on the sides, because they are exactly 30.5". So I had to re-order for 30.0" so I could have a quarter inch on each side of freedom so I could pull down the shades without touching the sides of the window frame.Second installation tip: the last step where you snap the top into the brackets you mounted- there are two different lips/rims/rails on the tops of these. One is sort of L-shaped, and the other is almost S-shaped. It definitely makes a difference, so if you're trying to snap them into the brackets and it isn't working- flip it around! You probably have the wrong lip at the front.
