The spring clips fix themselves tightly into the inside walls of the 1.5" ABS pipe. I tested the withdrawal strength and the corners of the spring clips act as barbs that dig into the plastic, making the cap very hard to remove.If you have 2" dwv pipe, be sure to bend the spring clips outward a bit so they will really dig in.The only weak point I see is how the spring clip is attached to the underside of the plastic cap. I'm fairly confident it'll work fine for a few years, but the attachment isn't very robust (no fasteners, not molded in) so I won't be surprised if I see a bare spring clip sticking out of the roof vent after a long road trip.Overall a good value, considering price and ease of install.

Had to replace these on the top of my 2000 travel trailer. I was power washing the roof and these (original caps) literally disintegrated on contact with the stream. I was excited to find that I could simply replace the cap rather than the entire vent which would mean a lot more work.However, once I went to put the new cap on (which was a perfect fit and simple to install!) I realized that the rest of the vent is in similar condition. In fact, while pressing this new cap on, the vent broke. I was able to seal it up with a heap of cap sealant but next year's project will be to replace the entire vent.Just a heads up to inspect the entire vent before ordering just the cap as the entire vent is about the same price as just the cap. So now I'll be "reordering" these next year.

The hardest part was removing the old cap. I love that if you don’t want to replace the screw if you don’t wish to and the cover cap snaps right into place. I had 5 to replace and was done in two hours.

This RV vent cap was so simple to install without tools - just press the 2 metal tangs together enough to insert into vent pipe. The hardest part for me was actually climbing onto the roof. I have Thor Class C.The tension on the 2 tangs is what keeps the vent cap in place. Love it!
