This egg separator works great. I like the design of the long handle because it can stretch across your bowl or cup to catch the egg whites, while hanging onto the egg yolk for you to dump. Seems sturdy enough. Should last a good long time.

I like the retro look of this. It's great quality. It's dishwasher safe. The hook on the end sits securely over the edge of the container, so there is no possibility of it slipping off into the dish, and the handle is long enough to lay straight across the dish so it can be used hands-free for those of us that require two hands to open eggs. My results have been mixed. I let the eggs come to room temperature first. For eggs with thin whites it works great. For fresh eggs with thick whites, I've had varying success. I've had yolks break when I put them in this, and I wasn't dropping them from a great height, and have had a couple slide right through the side of the spiral as I was transferring them and splat on the counter. Now I use this over a heavy water glass and only do one at a time, to avoid the possibility of a broken yolk getting into a batch of whites. Probably half the time I still end up using the back and forth in the eggshell method, or the filter the white through your fingers method, at some point during the separation process. It all depends on the eggs.

I have a bread recipe that I make weekly which calls for 4 egg whites. I can't count the times I've made a mess transferring the yolks back and forth between the two halves of shells to separate the yolks from the egg whites. For whatever reason, I'm just not good at it, so sometimes there has been a little yolk mixed in with the whites. I purchased this little gem and it really works! It's stainless steel, 100% rustproof, and has rubber over the handle to give a good grip. By placing it across a bowl or measuring cup, you can get those eggs separated quickly and easily. I've cleaned mine several times in the dishwasher and it looks brand new. I expect this will last a very long time!

Eigentlich müsste man auch 0 Sterne vergeben können, somit entspricht aber allgemein 1 Stern einer Nullbewertung, so auch hier. Leider hat die Trennung von Eigelb und Eiweiß bei insgesamt 6 Eiern bei keinem der Eier funktioniert. Ein Fall voll für die Tonne. Schade um das Geld, auch wenn es kein Vermögen ist.
