Bought this to sit atop a standard boom microphone stand and use a pair of high quality microphones in a "X" pattern. This worked great with independent threaded holders. Used successfully for a brass ensemble and full wind ensemble concerts. Highly recommended.

As others have mentioned it is nicely machined and feels hefty enough. The problem I ran into is that the center piece is machined from aluminum and the small male threaded part stripped out when I tightened it too far. Perhaps I was being a bit heavy handed but when gear is being set up and torn down in a rush that’s to be expected. I salvaged it by drilling out the piece and replacing the stripped thread with a steel 1/4-20 screw and a locking nut on the other side of the flat bar. It’ll be fine now but thankfully this didn’t happen as I was setting up on stage. It did effectively solve my dual mic problem but not without modification.

Some reviewers have said this is hard to adjust, but I didn't find that to be true. The knurled, threaded washer underneath the bar requires moderate force to tighten the mic clip on the other side of the bar, but everything stays tight after that.I used this to position a pair of narrow-diameter condenser mics into an x/y configuration. That is, they're at a right angle to each other with the heads nearly touching. This is a good configuration to avoid the out-of-phase issues that occur when two microphones are at a distance from each other.The black finish looks very professional, so I'm not embarrassed to use it with my clients.This would be improved by offering a third hole so the mics could optionally be mounted closer to each other. At the current distance between them, my mics have to be clipped pretty close to their tail ends, which feels slightly precarious.

with this contraption i can use 2 mick so i don't have to look at down to my feet to foot pedal to switch 1 mic to the other mic..
