I like the idea that there are 2 sizes/styles. My original water bath canner was way too large/wide for my burner and the burner broke. I replaced the heating element and purchased a smaller tall stock pot that didn’t have these. They work great.

Fit perfectly in my canning pot. It originally had a plastic basket. It reduced the number of jars you could process at one time. I tried it once with nothing in the bottom and found that the jars would break. This allows you to process more jars and get done faster. !!
