I decided to give this ashtray a try for the convenience of having an ashtray in reach of having to look down while driving to make sure the ashes fall in the ashtray in the cup holder . This ashtray is perfect, and having a strong hook ( comes with 2) to connect to the vent is perfect. I would definitely recommend purchasing this ashtray

GREAT little ashtray for my car!ðŸ‘I don't usually write reviews for ashtrays, lol... but I searched Amazon for a stupid amount of time looking for a decent, *lighted* ashtray with a LID. (That wasn't grossly overpriced.) Figured my review might help some other picky smoker like myself looking for the same.This little ashtray is MUCH sturdier than I expected.👠It's got some weight to it—not heavy, just not flimsy or thin. The shiny black plastic & gold trim looks very nice, much nicer than most car/portable ashtrays.The lighted lid is also sturdy/weighted and thicker than expected, so it STAYS closed. The blue light—on the underside of the lid— comes on when the lid is opened. It's battery powered, not solar, but it appears you *can* replace the tiny cell batteries.👠(Need a small phillip screwdriver.) It comes with a matching outter shell/cup that gives you more options for placement/mounting, and a couple vent clips if you wanted to mount it on a vent. (The vent clip promptly broke when I tried it. The ashtray is too heavy for a vent clip. Not an issue for me.)Lastly, this ashtray is a "shorty" — about half the height of a standard plastic car/portable ashtray. I *wanted* a short one for a variety of reasons—it fits in a wider variety of places and is less likely to get knocked over by klutzy me ;)Bottom line: it's a great, nice looking, sturdy, useful little car/portable ashtray. I would’ve given this five stars had it been a little bit taller, but it fits perfectly in my cupholder and keeps the smoke down in my car and gives me a chance to use the ashtray instead of flicking my cigarette out the window.

No problems after 2 months or so of light use. The light is still on. It doesn't down on smoke smell in the car.

I got this because my friend smokes in my car but she really never gets the ashes out the window lol even when she does it's typically all over passenger door one day ash was all over my back seat. So I'm hoping this helps. Ive burned some sage to try it out and it holds in the smell and of course the ash (I would hope so.) The light is pretty cool and I like that you can choose to have it in your cup holder or attached to a vent with two different clip sizes.

Got this for my car so at night I have a better chance of ashes in the tray versus somewhere next to it. However the lid broke off one day as I closed it and wasn’t able to fix it. Not ideal as the ashes tend to leave an unpleasant smell in the car. But while it lasted it was great.

My car does not have an ashtray. I put this in the cupholder. And my armrest still slides right over top of it. It’s great that it’s short. And even better that it lights up when you open the lid.

I’ve smoked on my car for 20 years and had multiple different styles of car ashtrays. This one is my favorite hands down. I have it clipped onto my driver side vent. I like that I can easily move it around and when charged, the blue light assists with aiming where you ash. Highly recommend.

I was happy with the appearance and size of this ash tray, but after a couple weeks of daily use it broke. I had been closing the lid each time I put in a finished cigarette to help extinguish the cigarette tip and then reopen it when I started a new one, but one day after I had been using it for a few weeks a part popped into the air as I opened the ashtray. I found the metal rod that popped out but it looks like another part also popped out, something that controlled the led light when the lid was closed. I never did find this part so I can't describe it. But anyways, when I tried to reassemble it things just weren't the same. The light wouldn't turn off anymore and the lid became very loose and would close on its own when I hit the car brakes. It was a nice ashtray when it was working but unfortunately didn't last very long

Hole at the back of the ashtray broke the first day and so clip does not stay in place. The metal hinge support keeps coming out, so no opening and closing the lid. Disappointed and frustrating. Keep your money, mine has been wasted.
